This Monday, the seventh season of Dancing With The Stars begins on ABC. Unlike previous seasons, this one will have thirteen couples and feature the youngest and oldest couples in Dancing With The Stars history. Here is a quick look at the couples and what they will be bringing to the dance floor:
Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer: Lance, who is a former member of nineties boy band ‘NSYNC is partnered with newcomer Lacey, who was a finalist in season three of So You Think You Can Dance. This couple has the potential to go far—Lance has previous experience from his ‘NSYNC days, a devoted fan base and good looks to go with it. Lacey is a national Latin champion and a West Coast Swing dancer, which could put an interesting spin on their routines.
Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo: Toni is best known for her singing and Broadway career, whereas Alec is known for winning season one with Kelly Monaco. Despite her heart condition, Toni seems to be dedicated to the show and doing well, and Alec is an amazing dancer that is devoted to bringing out the best in his students.
Brooke Burke and Derek Hough: Brooke is best known for her sexy pictures in men’s magazines and hosting several shows including Wild On and Rock Star. Derek is known for being paired with Jennie Garth and Shannon Elizabeth. I think they make a gorgeous couple and if her practice pictures are any indication of how she is going to do, then these two are going to be on the show for a long time.
Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff: The handsome celebrity chef and the lovely world champion dancer are coming together this season for the chance to win the disco ball trophy. Based on the pictures, they seem to have great chemistry but will it be enough to win?
Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke: He’s an athlete and she is one of the show’s two time champions. That alone can get them pretty far, but will he be the show’s fifth athlete winner?
Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas: The reality star and the reigning champion are beautiful together but people seem to look down on Kim based on her past. However, I don’t think that is right because it has nothing to do with the show. She is willing to try, and hopefully America will give her a chance.
Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas: The oldest competitor and oldest professional are ready to dance their way into America’s hearts this season. It is usually assumed that the oldest contestant will be stiff and have no rhythm, but I don’t think this will be the case for Cloris. The woman has more spunk and energy than most people half her age so I think she will be just fine.
Cody Linely and Julianne Hough: The youngest competitor and the second-youngest pro (Lacey is three weeks younger) are ready to prove they have what it takes to win. Cody has his youth as an advantage and Julianne is the show’s other two-time champion so there is no reason why these two can’t go far in the competition.
Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani: The ‘Bad Boy’ of ballroom and the daytime diva are preparing to dance into America’s hearts this season. They will be traveling between coasts in order for Susan to continue working on ‘All My Children,’ just like Cameron Mathison did last year. Both of them have dedicated fan bases and the charm and talent to possibly win it all.
Misty May-Treanor and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: Fan favorite Maks is back and in it to win it. Misty is back from the Olympics and has the athletic ability, stamina and spirit to win a disco trophy to go with her gold medals. Together they have the ability to do just that.
Ted McGinley and Inna Brayer: Will the sitcom star and the newcomer have what it takes to win it all? Based on her experience and his charm and work ethic they very well might!
Jeffery Ross and Edyta Sliwinska: Will the funnyman lead the veteran pro (the only one who has appeared on every season of the show) to the disco ball trophy or send her home early? Only time will tell, but according to Edyta herself, he has improved a lot since they began so there is a possibility they can go far.
Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson: Football players tend to do well on the show and Warren should be no exception. Hopefully this season will allow Kym to have her well-deserved moment in the sun.
The show begins on Monday and for the first time in the show’s history, someone will be eliminated on Tuesday before they have a chance to dance for a second time. The first full results show will take place on Wednesday. Who do you think will make it?
