Masterchef Recap for 4/29/2026
Masterchef on Fox is in its third week of auditions. This time, we are watching chefs who are representing their African culture try to impress Chefs Gordon Ramsay, Tifffany Derry and Joe Bastainich.
Nadine: She makes a peanut butter soup to with coconut curry rice. This will represent her West African heritage. Chef Tiffany thinks it is lacking flavor, so she says no, which means she will be sent home.
Nora: She is representing her Moroccan heritage with a lamb dish with couscous and eggs. It is pronounced stylish and elegant with lots of delicious flavor, so it is a yes, yes, yes! She gets an apron.
She is also in a similar outfit as Chef Tiffany.
Rita: She is representing her Nigerian heritage with a jollof risotto and steak dish. Chef Gordon Ramsay and Chef Tiffany wish she should have used a regular rice, but Chef Joe loves that she threw in her love for Italian food into the dish.
She gets three yeses and an apron….but has to promise to stick to her roots.
Dave: He makes anchovy tagra to represent his Moroccan heritage. The judges love it and it is a unanimous decision to give him his apron.
Abel: He makes an Ethiopian awaze tibs, which the judges think look way too dry. It is also lacking flavor, so he is sent home.
Heidi: She makes a curry flavored Chilean sea bass, representing Durban. It is cooked well, but the sauce is inconsistent. However, they decide to give her a chance and an apron.
Meryhen: She makes an Egyptian dish with rice, Egyptian salad and fish. The fish is good, but the rice is a bit off. Chef Joe loves it and gives her a yes, but the others say no, so she is sent home.
Peter: His duck dish represents Nigeria. The judges find the flavors unusual and love it so much that Chef Gordon Ramsay rips off his shirt to give him his apron.
