High Potential Recap for Pawns

 

High Potential’s season two premiere opens with a woman going clubbing while on the phone with her kid’s babysitter.  She just….disappears?

 

Morgan is thinking about her previous case while Elliot and Ludo get into a pillow fight. She joins in, but Ava is not amused since she is reading a story to Chloe.

 

Selena comes over to talk about her stalker and being stuck in the house. There is currently no update on Roman, but the ball is rolling. Oh, and Karadec misses her.

 

Speaking of him, he, Daphne and Oz are working on the case to catch said stalker.

 

Morgan calls Karadec for an update on the case and how they are frustrated with it all.

 

A man named Chester is watching Morgan’s house to keep her safe. She gives him cookies while going to run errands. When she checks the mail, she sees a clue and goes to investigate. She knows it is from the stalker and goes to the station so they can all look into the Game Maker.

 

The house that the Game Maker wanted Morgan to see belongs to a Maya Price, who is missing. Who wants to bet it’s the clubbing girl? Maya’s sister and son come in to report her missing.

 

Sarah, Maya’s sister, tells them about how Maya won tickets to a show at a club at the time she disappeared. She is terrified something happened to her and says she is responsible so there is no way she would get too drunk to come home. She adds that Maya has custody issues with Max’s father Derek.

 

Karadec and Morgan look into the parking lot where Maya disappeared. He thinks this isn’t worth a look, but Morgan proves otherwise by showing how the contents from her purse that spilled and the heel marks on the ground led to her kidnapping. She infers that she was taken and was shoved into the trunk of her car.

 

Derek is brought in for questioning when they realize Maya brought a gun….which is now also missing.

 

A look into Maya shows shopping bags from expensive stores, but no contents. Morgan realizes they were sold, so she and Karadec go to a pawn shop. Oz and Daphne look into the house.

 

Fritzy, the pawn shop owner is questioned by Morgan and Karadec and tells them that Maya and a man were arguing. Cameras captured the argument. He also is willing to cooperate with them.

 

Derek admits he was jealous of the fact that a man was giving Maya gifts and has an alibi for the night Maya went missing. Morgan thinks he is innocent.

 

A friend of Maya’s, Harper, talks to them and mentions a guy named Jason who could have given her the gifts. Jason also gave her the tickets, which Harper and Maya both found weird.

 

Jason is investigated. Morgan discovers he is a diabetic, like Spencer from a previous case and shows them that the Game Maker is trying to frame Jason.  However, no one believes her and think that Jason is their bad guy.

 

Selena and Karadec worry about Morgan, who is unsuccessfully trying to have a family night. Karadec goes to get her for a party to investigate, upsetting Ava, who wants to go to a party herself.

 

Morgan and Karadec end up at a party where people wear masks that match the Game Maker’s.  Jason is there and questioned. He claims that Maya used the company card to buy things, but despite confronting her, he didn’t fire her since he has a ‘soft spot for single moms.’

 

Morgan realizes that Jason is missing a sword from his Japanese collection and questions him about it. Jason denies any wrongdoing and tells them to see themselves out. Morgan stays behind to snoop, with Karadec watching her…..as she runs into the Game Maker himself.

 

Karadec holds him at gunpoint as the Game Maker removes his mask. Or did he? Morgan says he disappeared and Jason got arrested…..and promptly is attacked by Derek at the station.

 

Ludo vows to keep the kids safe.

 

Morgan continues to freak out and insists that Jason is innocent.

 

A salvage place has Maya’s car. Everyone goes to investigate except for Selena, who is working on the Roman case.

Maya’s bloody jacket is in the trunk of her car.

 

Daphne and Oz go to look for Roman while Morgan realizes that Derek got tipped off about Jason’s arrest. She realizes the Game Maker is after Maya and Derek as well…with Jason being framed.

 

The race is on to go find Derek to stop him from killing Jason.

 

Meanwhile, Oz and Daphne find out where Roman is….but someone else is in the room.

 

The Game Maker walks into the station….as the episode comes to a close.
