Masterchef Recap for 5/6/2026
Masterchef on Fox is on its last week of auditions, this time representing The Americas.
As always, Chefs Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastainich and Tiffany Derry judge.
Tkaiya: She is representing Jamaica with her pineapple glazed jerk chicken….in honor of her grandmother. However, she forgot her pineapple sauce on top and cries as she presents the dish and remembers her grandmother.
Luckily for her, Chef Tiffany and Chef Joe love it without the pineapple sauce and Chef Gordon Ramsay has faith in her…..so she gets an apron!
Coby: He made alligator sauce piquant to represent the Cajian flavor. While he is commended for attempting to cook alligator, it is not up to the standards of the judges, so he is sent home.
Camilo: He makes a Mexican quail dish with a corn salsa side dish. The quail is cooked perfectly, but Chef Tiffany thinks it is too simple. However, she gives him a yes, as do the guys, so he gets an apron!
Harold: He is representing Venezuela with his take on arroz con pollo. The chicken is sadly undercooked, so he is sent home.
Jhanelle: She is representing Jamaca with her pan seared sea bass dish. While the elements were there, the dish was undercooked and too salty. She is sent home.
Brittany: She makes salted cod fish cakes to represent Barbados. There is a lot of spice in the sauce and the judges are shocked by the flavor. They give her the apron.
Jake: He makes a Mexican mole negro cake to represent his heritage. While it doesn’t look prettiest, the cake is delicious and unique. This earns him a unanimous yes to the apron.
Maria: She is bringing Brazilian flavor with her seafood stew dish. It was well-cooked with an explosion of flavors. She gets an apron.
Andrea: She is representing Alaska with a salmon-blueberry dish. The dish is well cooked, albeit a bit sweet and lacking acidity. She is sent home.
