Dancing with the Stars
Dancing with the Stars
Can Rocco Survive?

Welcome to another week of Dancing With The Stars! Tonight nine couples  remain, and they will dance either the samba or the tango to prove they have what it takes to win that coveted mirror ball trophy. Due to the fact that Misty withdrew, the scores from last week will be combined with tonight's. The team with the lowest combined score will go home tomorrow night.

Maurice and Cheryl take the floor first with their samba. He is having trouble focusing this week , so she brings his kids in to help him concentrate.  The dance has a bit of a disco twist to it, but it is fun to watch.

The judges like it, but think he took a step back this week. Len and Bruno in particular want him to refine his dancing.

Score: 20 (6,7,7) Total From last week: 44

Cody and Julianne tango after the commercial break. Since he refuses to behave, she  has his high school principal call to tell him to behave. The music is an odd choice for a tango, but they do a good job nonetheless.

The judges agree that they are improving and that this was his best dance so far.

Score:  23 (7,8,8) Total From last week: 44

Toni and Alec are up next with their samba.  She mentions that her doctor said her heart is improving, and I hope she continues on her road to recovery.  Their dance is a great comeback for them after last week's Viennese Waltz.

Despite a couple mistakes, the judges feel she did a good job and had good sensuality.

Score: 22 (7,7,8) Total From last week:44

Cloris and Corky do the tango next.  She promises to work on her technique this week but still keep her humorous side. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren come in to cheer her on and her great grandson is so adorable!.  This is a fun, dramatic tango and oh-so-Cloris. They did break hold at one point, I wonder what the judges have to say?

All three agree that they liked it, but Cloris interrupts Carrie Ann so much that we never know what she really thought of it. No one mentioned that they broke hold, but it wasn't for every long so it really isn't a big deal.

Score: 22 (8,7,7) Total From last week:38

Rocco and Karina take the stage next with their samba. His mom comes and asks him to shake what she gave him. I cannot BELIEVE she said that! Their samba was fun and flirty, it is my favorite of the dances so far.

The judges don't like it, but appreciate that they were trying to have fun.

Score: 18 (6,6,6) Total From last week: 38

Susan and Tony are up next. Before we get to the tango, which promises a lot of Erica Kane action.  We are given a sneak preview of Tony on AMC, where he plays a tornado victim. I can't wait that episode! They do an amazing, dramatic tango that  Erica would be so proud of.

Everyone agrees that this was her week to shine and the best dance she has done so far.

Score: 24 (8,8,8) Total From last week: 45

Brooke and Derek's samba is up next.  In order for Brooke to get a feel for the dance, they go to a Brazilian place to see real samba girls 'shake it.'  Their dance was incredible--sexy, fun and just so full of life. I must admit she is the biggest surprise this season--in a good way.

Although Len thinks it was too erotic, both Bruno and Carrie Ann disagree--Carrie Ann even thinks they have a shot at winning!

Score: 26 (9,8,9) Total From last week: 54

Tom announces that we are getting four new dances next week: salsa, hustle, West Coast Swing and jitterbug. I'm so excited to see them, especially the jitterbug!

After yet another commercial break (and a reminder that High School Musical 3 is coming out on the 24th)  we get to Lance and Lacey's tango. They add a perfect combination of tradition and their own flavor without going too much in either direction. While the song isn't quite right for the tango, the dance itself was decent--he just needs to work on his frame a bit more.

The judges love it and Len dubs him Sir Lance A Lot.

Score: 26 (9,8,9) Total From last week: 48

The last dance of the night is Warren and Kym's samba. They take a capoeira class to prepare. It is a combination of martial arts and dance. It was an absolutely adorable samba and a fun way to end the night.

As fun as it was, however, the judges agree that it lacked content tonight.

Score:  22 (8,7,7) Total From last week: 47

After his score, Cloris comes up to say she got the same score and gives him a hug.

After a recap of the dances and scores, we are reminded to vote for our favorite dancers--otherwise they may go home.

Make sure to tune in tomorrow night for performances by Ne-Yo, the beginning of the Ballroom Kids Competition and of course to see who goes home. See you tomorrow night.

The ratings system is broken due to a site crash a few days back, we will fix it when we establish how to fix it.
