America’s Got Talent Recap for 8/4/2026
It is Judge’s Callback Week Part 1 on NBC’s America’s Got Talent! This week, Mel B and Simon Cowell will take their favorite acts under their wing and prepare them for their final audition to get on the live shows.
Emma Bunton, aka Baby Spice and Normani and Poo Bear will be joining Mel B and Simon, respectively.
Mel B and Simon invite their acts to their respective homes for food, mentorship and kindness prior to said auditions.
After talking to Lachlan Patterson, Mel B takes her acts out for drinks to loosen up….and to also let him perform his act for an audience. He seems very nervous but is still hilarious, joking about the life span of avocados and new management at restaurants.
I just want to hug him when he feels as if he messed up.
Emma joins Mel B and the auditions begin.
Butter and Grit perform an original song, which is not only beautiful and emotional but once they become famous, I see it becoming one of the top wedding songs for country music fans.
Joel M: His magic act has him take Emma’s ring, an egg from Mel B’s chicken and a lemon. He also has them pick words (Audition for Mel B, walnut for Emma). The egg with the word audition on it is in the lemon, the walnut is in the egg, and the ring is in the walnut. It is mind boggling to watch for sure!
Madelyne and Malachi: They do a cover of Walk The Moon’s Shut Up and Dance after initially having another song prepared. Despite the short notice, they do a solid job, but seem very nervous. Mel B isn’t sure what to think.
James and Marina: Their act consists of her standing outside blindfolded and guessing objects, how much battery power is on Emma’s phone and a picture of a dog as her screen saver. They also have Mel B pick a picture and make Emma say the name she heard….Leo…..who is in the picture. It is quite interesting and intriguing to watch.
Bety: She incorporates English and Spanish into the medley of songs, which is incredible. The performance is wonderful, despite the fact that she is nervous. Win or lose, she has a future in this business.
Results:
James and Marina, Butter and Grit and Bety all advance.
Simon’s Acts:
Sando: He’s a comic dancer and this time, he adds more people and drones to the routine. It Is fun to watch and very lighthearted. It reminds me of when I lived in NY and would see dancers on the subway.
Travis Garland: He performs a ballad and reminds me of some of the old school ballad singers like Bryan McKnight and Ricky Martin in his ballad era. There is something so endearing about him.
Nyjah and Zyah: They are the next coming of boy band brothers like Evan and Jaron and Hanson. They are stopped in the beginning and told to start over, leading to a much better performance.
They are adorable and remind me of the bands I loved as a teenager.
Elektrodads: Their dance has a daddy daycare theme and they are all wearing baby dolls in carriers as they dance. They were my favorite audition and still my favorite tonight. I love them since they are the cutest ever! It reminds me of the dad version of that old sitcom The Mommies.
Akira: He does another novelty dance while naked, save for various items covering his nether regions. I cannot stop laughing because it is such a unique act, but also hysterically funny…..especially when he juggles dishes and jumps in the pools.
Elsie: She sings Make It Rain and this time, she really puts her all into it. During her audition, she was very nervous and it impacted her performance, but tonight she proved she is in it to win it.
Results:
Travis, Sando, Akira, Nyjah and Zyah and Elsie all make it through. Sadly, my Elektrodads go home.
