Masterchef Recap for 9/9/2026
This is part one of the Masterchef finale on Fox. Jake, Heidi and Peter remain and must cook for their lives if they want to win it all.
As always Chefs Gordon Ramsay, Tiffany Derry and Joe Bastainich judge.
Each remaining contestant is introduced as their journey to get to the finale is shared. They are also reunited with their families.
Each chef must make a three-course meal, which consists of an appetizer, entrée and dessert. They all must be inspired by their roots and journey on the show, while also being Michelin star worthy.
The eliminated contestants are also there to cheer them on.
As always, the judges walk around and offer commentary and give advice.
Time to present the apps!
Peter: His steamed red snapper with pepper soup broth, red pepper glaze and yam dumplings was cooked beautifully, albeit a bit too salty.
Heidi: Her chili-marinated black cod with mango salsa, fennel salad and peri-peri cream sauce is a bit too salad-y and could have used more sauce. However, the cod is delicious and it is colorful.
Jake: His kraken, aka ruby prawn and octopus taco with avocado crema and aguachile rojo sauce is delicious and one of the most delicious tacos they tasted.
Now it is time for the entrée round!
The judges continue to make their rounds, offering commentary and giving advice.
All the while, everyone is being cheered on by their families and fellow contestants.
Peter struggles with his steaks.
