Legendary Journalist Cokie Roberts Dead at 75

Sad news for the journalism world today. Legendary reporter Cokie Roberts has died, TVGrapevine has learned. She was 75 years old.

According to her family, the ABC News alum had been suffering from breast cancer. Deadline reported on the news shortly after it broke.

Throughout her career, Cokie was nominated for and won several awards, including three Emmys and an induction into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame. She was also named a “Living Legend” by the Library of Congress in 2008.

Cokie also helped shape NPR when she joined in 1978.

ABC News released the following Tweet following the news of her death.

Cokie is survived by her husband, two children and six grandchildren. TVGrapevine sends condolences to her family and loved ones during this time.
