MeTV Toons Announces Fall Schedule
MeTV Toons, the only TV network dedicated exclusively to the greatest classic animation of all time, is rolling out a fresh fall lineup beginning Monday, September 21. Leading the additions is a newly restored version of The Quick Draw McGraw Show coming back to free broadcast television for the first time in decades, alongside other exciting new series, programming blocks and schedule changes across weekdays and weekends.
“Along with Huckleberry Hound and Yogi Bear, Quick Draw McGraw was one of the highlights of Hanna-Barbera’s tremendous impact on made for TV cartoons”, said Neal Sabin, vice-chairman Weigel Broadcasting Co. “Because of rights and materials issues, the show has not been available for broadcast and greater distribution in years. Warner Bros. Discovery painstakingly produced a stellar restoration of the series including opens, closes and of course the cartoon segments featuring not only Quick Draw, but Snooper and Blabber and Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy. This series has been the most requested and anticipated by our viewers, and we are thrilled to bring it to them on MeTV Toons.”
Weekday daytime gets a refresh with Sonic the Hedgehog joining the lineup at 8am, followed by the debut of “Cartoon Carousel” at 10am, a one-hour block showcasing a different, rarely seen animated series each week, including Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels, Funky Phantom, Goober and the Ghost Chasers, Droopy, Master Detective, Dynomutt, Dog Wonder, Mumbly, Inch High Private Eye and more. Weekday afternoons, Woody Woodpecker & Casper Hour airs at 2pm and Heathcliff debuts at 4:30pm, plus The Quick Draw McGraw Show joins the schedule at 5:30pm.
Weekday late-night changes will see Wait Till Your Father Gets Home at 12am, Taz-Mania at 12:30AM, Centurions at 4am, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show at 4:30am, The Mask at 5am, and Police Academy: The Animated Series at 5:30am.
Weekends also get a makeover with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Saturdays at 1:30pm, and a new “Situation Animation” block airing late-night on Sundays beginning at 11pm with The Fonz & the Happy Days Gang, The New Adventures of Gilligan, Jeannie and The Addams Family animated series. Sunday late-night will also see a new “Animation Antiques” one-hour block at 1:30am spotlighting beloved animation from the 1930s and 1940s, with familiar faces including Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Popeye, Betty Boop and more.
