UPDATE: Unsolved Mysteries Case on Alonzo Brooks

As Robert Stack would say: UPDATE! TVGrapevine can confirm that Alonzo Brooks’ death has officially been declared a homicide. The information was confirmed by several news outlets, as well as the television show Unsolved Mysteries, which featured the case on Netflix last year.

“We knew that Alonzo Brooks died under very suspicious circumstances,” Acting U.S. Attorney Duston Slinkard said in a statement.  “This new examination by a team of the world’s best forensic pathologists and experts establishes it was no accident. Alonzo Brooks was killed. We are doing everything we can, and will spare no resources, to bring those responsible to justice.”

Unsolved Mysteries dove deep into the case, investigating several angles of how he could have died. Alonzo’s body was exhumed in 2019, leading to the FBI offering a $100,000 reward for more information.

Both on and off the show, his family and friends stated that they believe Alonzo was a victim of foul play and that his death was the result of a possible hate crime.

More details will be revealed as they become available.
