The Biggest Loser Couples IIIThe Biggest Loser Couples III
Well, That Certainly Backfired!
Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC

That loud boom you heard Tuesday night was the sound of one great big backfire on The Biggest Loser Couples!  I have a feeling Michael has now overplayed his cards.  He was winning everyone's heart with his jokes and being a "nice guy".  But alas, greed got him and karma bit him.

Yes, the contestants on his team have a lot of weight to loose... but they also have a very, very high total weight.  This could turn out to be a blessing in disguise because Sam and the ladies don't have to lose as much to get a good percentage.  Their 6-7 pound weight loss will play out with a better percentage because their total weight is much lower.

For example:  The Blue Team, before sending Miggy home, had a total team weight of 1726.  Their total weight after Miggy and with O'Neal is now 1848 pounds.  The Black Team's total weight is 1412.  Simply put, the Blue Team would have to lose 184 (or 30 pounds each) to hit the 10% mark, whereas Black Team would only have to lose 141 (24 pounds each) to hit 10%.  The Blue Team sent home 194 pounds and in Miggy's place, they got O'Neal, who added his 316 to their total weight.  Sorry, I work with numbers every day and couldn't resist - I think you get my drift, so that's enough of the math lesson for the today...

Michael could easily have kept the teams together and bought himself a couple of weeks.  He said he wanted to be fair and got big old tears in his eyes... I for one didn't buy it and I don't think the contestants bought it either.  I won't be surprised if Michael is kicked to the curb the first chance they get.  He has only Lance in his corner, and probably O'Neal and Sunshine, even though that was not his intention.  He intended to split them as well because he really believed they would win the weigh-in and O'Neal would go to the Black Team.  That fact is proven by his constant uttering, "It shouldn't have been us..."

Just once I would like to see what would happen if everyone said no to the temptation challenge.  Maybe they would do something that doesn't require eating to win.  Watching them gorging on all those sugary treats literally turns my stomach and goes against everything the Biggest Loser is trying to fix.  There has to be a better way.    It was amazing though that Michael dropped so much weight after stuffing all those sweets in his body!

Now, everyone sitting down?  OK, I warned you...   I just read that Sam Poueu (Gray) and Stephanie Anderson (Purple) have fallen in love and that they shared their first kiss during week three!  Sam says he is moving to LA after the finale so they can be together.   I must say, the Biggest Loser is scoring big when it comes to finding love!   Don't know about you, but I'm certainly going to keep an eye on their body language.... matter of fact, I going to re-watch Tuesday's show to see if there are any hints!  Hmmm, maybe that is why Michael put them on separate teams...

On to what's coming up next week:   CONTESTANTS COMPETE IN TRUCK-PULLING CHALLENGE -- This week kicks off with a wild challenge that will test the strength of both the blue and the black teams when each team has to pull a truck – and then put together a large puzzle with the crates they had to stop and load along the way. The winning team gets an amazing prize. Then it’s work week for the contestants, with each working eight-hour shifts at the food bank while also fitting in workouts in a specific time frame, a real-world task that proves very challenging for some. Later, the blue team squares off against the black team at a tense weigh in before another player is sent home. Alison Sweeney is the host, and trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels also star.
