The Amazing Race

This leg of the Amazing Race begin in Valparaiso Chile, and the first leg takes them to San Diego, Chile. Jeff and Jordan as the first couple in will be the first to depart. They find a taxi to take them and are assured that the driver knows where the bus station is. Jeff feels that they are making strides as a couple, even as Jordan interrupts them. Carol and Brandy don't want to take them for granted and feel they underestimated them in the first two legs of the race.

As other teams arrive, there appears to be some spot holding. Joe and Heidi seem to be in the thick of it, and Louie and Mike are not taking it well. Jordan notices that it seems to be the other teams against them so they take off for another depot. Jeff says that no one seems to be thinking of connecting through another city, and he asks about going to Temuko and then switching buses to get there quicker. Caite and Brent get on the bandwagon with them and they take off. The cowboys find out that the connecting bus leaves from a different terminal in the center of the city, but don't tell Jeff, Jordan, Caite or Brent. They finally figure it out when their bus doesn't arrive at the terminal and take off to the correct terminal. They miss their bus by less than five minutes, and decide to taxi race back to the other terminal, only to miss that bus as well. All four of them are together when they find out that there is no other bus out today. Jeff is bummed when he finds out they are stranded.

They engage the ticket master in conversation and discover that there is a bus out at one in the morning, and they will arrive around six forty-five in the morning. The cowboys, having caught the correct bus are there, but the place doesn't open until seven-thirty in the morning, so they settle down in the car and sleep. They are up early in the morning to extend their lead and quickly find the race post. They catch their boat and are off quickly. Joe and Heidi are also out and along with Carol and Brandy. Jeff and Jordan arrive and move out quickly, but Jeff has to carry Jordan's pack as she says she is a walker, not a runner. He comments that she still isn't in shape yet.  Jeff and Cord are on their island in the lake region and must select either a llama and put a blanket and scarf on it, or they must dress as birds complete with wings and attempt to soar as a Condor would to a target in the water that contains their clue.  Carol and Brandy are happy to see that they are in second place.  Brent and Caite are in third place.

Jet and Cord select llama and dress him easily. Cord calls Jet the llama whisperer.  They get directions to a farm which will contain their next clue. Carol and Brandy meanwhile, are not having as much luck. Brent and Caite decide to take the Condor route and soar to their target, but miss by a long shot and swim to the target. Jordan and Jeff arrive and decide to do the soaring Condor and do a great job. Jeff jokes before they take off that at least they will go out with some dignity, and when Jordan doesn't seem to get it he reminds her that it is a joke.

Jody and Shannon are still looking for the task, but they aren't alone as Dan and Jordan are as lost as they are. They end up in front of someone's garage near what looks to be a private boat landing. They don't have driving a stick down, but decide to push the car into a forward position. Monique and Shawne locate the llama task and struggle to get the llama dressed, but are successful. Louie and Mike struggle to get the job done and finally get it.

The cowboys are at the next clue box. It is a roadblock at a Chilean farm, where they must gather up five ingredients in the correct amounts that will create a German cake. They must gather flour, 13 eggs, a plate of butter, milk, and sugar. The cowboys do it without incident and get their next clue. Cord stops to have a brief taste of a completed cake.  Carol and Brandy are excited to get to the kitchen, but Carol isn't excited to be milking a cow, so Brandy does it. The girls get their next clue and take off. Jordan and Jeff arrive, but Jeff is quickly given the task when Jordan doesn't know what a baker's dozen is. Jeff takes it on and tells the cow he doesn't like it either.  Jeff gets the clue that directs them to drive themselves to the next pit stop.  Monique takes on the cow milking when it is their turn and she gets squirted in the eye. 

Jordan and Dan finally get to the llama pen and do the task quickly. Shannon and Jody are last at the llama task, and it goe nicely, and they move on.  Leaders Jet and Cord arrive at the pit stop first, winning a sailboat apiece.  Joe and Heidi come in second, with Carol and Brandy coming in third.  Brent and Caite come in fourth.  Jordan and Jeff are on their way, but find themself in San Hose. They run into Louie and Mike looking for the farm and the guys discover they are 19 miles away.

Monique and Shawne arrive as team number five, and Jordan and Jeff arrive as team number six.  Meanwhile Jody takes the roadblock for her team and gets a kick in the eye from the cow.  Steve and Allie arrive as team number seven followed by Dan and Jordan as team number eight.  Louie and Mike finally arrive at the farmhouse and take on the roadblock. Shannon and Jody are still there.  Louie and Mike get it done quicker and get out putting Jody and Shannon in last place as they race to the pit stop.  Louie and Mike beat Jody and Shannon, placing them ninth. Jody and Shannon are last in and they are eliminated. Shannon is proud of her grandma and they agree to look for another adventure.

Next week: Carol and Brandy interrogate the Cowboys about their success, finding out that they withheld information from Jeff, Jordan, Caite and Brent that caused the four to miss their bus, and the Carol and Brandy get on each other's nerves.
