THE BACHELOR
RECAP FOR MONDAY, FEB. 8

Hello and welcome to The Bachelor: On The Wings of Love—the final four! Last we said goodbye to Corrie.  This week, Jake will meet the parents of Gia, Ali, Tenley and Vienna.

The show opens with Jake packing for each of the hometown dates. He is nervous not only about meeting the families, but also because he knows that he could one day being a part of one of these families.

The first hometown date is with Gia’s family in New York City.  She takes him on a boat ride across the Hudson River, pointing out the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and other landmarks. They also take lots of pictures to capture memories of the day. He admits that he is nervous about meeting his potential in laws. She tells him that he is the first guy she is bringing home that wasn’t a friend first. They talk a little bit about her past relationships and he hopes that he doesn’t hurt her the ways she was hurt in the past.

GIA’S DATE
Gia finally takes Jake home to meet her mom Donna her stepfather Tony and her brothers Eric and Dylan. She says she has a very protective family that she hopes approves of Jake.

Her mom grills Jake about his feelings for the other girls and why is Gia different? He says she has a way about her and there was immediate chemistry.  She wants Jake to show Gia what real love his.  She takes Gia aside to talk about her talk with him.  Donna thinks she sees something and that he has a love for her.  Gia wants to know she is different from the other girls. She is relieved to know her mom sees a possible future for her and Jake.

Gia’s brother thinks Jake is ok and he had better not hurt her He tells her to watch out since he is so protective of her. It sounds like something my own brother would say.  Brothers like that are wonderful!  He takes Jake aside to have a little chat with him.  Again, something my own brother will do. He says that if he has to break a few legs to protect Gia, he will! He is such a sweet, protective guy, can we nominate him for the next Bachelor?

At the end of the date, they sit on the stoop and reflect on the day. He admits he is falling for her and she thinks she is feeling the same.

ALI’S DATE
Ali take Jake to her hometown in Massachusetts. He jokes that she is a bit ahead since he technically got two hometown dates, thanks to their stay in San Fransisco. They walk around and play a wishing game with leaves and then she takes him to her grandma’s house, which holds a lot of memories for her. She admits she hasn’t been there since she died and that she feels her grandma is there with them in spirit.

Jake meets her mom Beth, her sister Rhya and her brother Mikey. She values her mom’s opinion and hopes that she likes Jake.  Beth is impressed with what he said about what is in the heart being more important than physical beauty.

She then pulls Jake aside for a little chat.   She wants to know how important family is to him and he wants to have her approval if Ali is the one he chooses. Beth thinks he is genuine and says that he has her blessing. She talks to Ali about it and tell her she sees how much they care for each other.

Ali and Jake reflect on the day. She says she wants him and that if he proposed to her today, she would say yes.

TENLEY’S DATE
The next stop for Jake is Oregon, where he meets Tenley and her family. She takes him around where she grew up and where she first rode her bike without training wheels. They talk about family and how important it is to both of them.  She also takes him to a dance studio, where she dances for him. Dance is something that is important to her and something she hopes she can share with him.  They then dance together.

Tenley introduces Jake to her mom Beth, her dad Rob and her sister Carly.

They talk a bit over dinner and then Rob takes Jake upstairs to chat.  He wants to make sure he is not going to hurt her the way her ex husband did. Rob says he wanted Tenley to meet Jake based on his integrity on The Bachelorette. Rob wants to know is he is truly that guy, and Jake admits that he is since that is how he was raised. He says that the two of them have similar values and they can possibly make it work.  Rob says that the most painful thing for a father is to see his little girl hurt.

Tenley talks to her dad about Jake and he pretty much reiterates what he told Jake, which makes her cry.

Beth talks to Jake and says that although there will be some emotional moments, she thinks she is ready to move on. She thinks she can enjoy having Jake as a son in law. Jake then actually asks permission to marry Tenley if it work out. Rob says it feels natural and comfortable, so yes, he has their blessing.

At the end of the night, Tenley admits she is falling for Jake and that she feels safe.

VIENNA’S DATE
Vienna and Jake take a boat ride where they talk about her past boyfriends and her ex husband. She says she wants her dad to approve since he never really liked any of her past boyfriends. He is nervous since she does hold her father on a pedastal.

Vienna finally takes Jake to meet her family. Both she and her father cry a lot since they have been apart for so long. They sit together and she tells him that Jake may be the first guy she truly loved.

Vincent (Vienna’s dad) takes Jake downstairs to show him his motorcycle and to talk. He says he expects her to be treated like a princess. Jake promises to do just that.

Over dinner, Vienna’s sister asks Jake what he likes about her. He admits he loves her honesty, although it sometimes gets her into trouble!  They admit that she is a woman who goes after what she wants.

The night ends with them up in her bedroom making out. Really? Vincent comes in and says he is right outside the door. AWKWARD!!! She feels like she is glowing because of him.

BACK TO LA
Before the rose ceremony, Ali comes to visit him. She is in tears because she has to decide between him and her job. They talk about what she should do and he tells her that he cannot guarantee her a ring at this point. She says she will make her decision at the rose ceremony. He says that whatever decision she makes he will be ok with.  She sits in the hall and cries while he sits in his room, hoping that she stays.

Jake talks to Chris about the Ali situation and the pressure that is now on him. He knows he wants her to stay, but isn’t sure if she can tell her there is a real possibility she quit her job for nothing.

ROSE CEREMONY
Before the rose ceremony begins, Ali talks to Jake about her decision. She talks about her feelings and how confused she is. He says that she would have been safe tonight and that he is falling in love with her. They cuddle and make out a bit—and did he just put his hand up her dress? Maybe not, but it sure looked like it. After more tears, she decides to go back to her job. They hug and cry before he walks her outside to the car.  After one last kiss she tearfully enters the car and drives away.  He hangs over the banister crying over her departure. Is this the new Mesnick move? The Pevelka?

He and Chris go back to the ceremony and fill them in on what happened and tell them that there will be no rose ceremony, Jake gives them each a rose anyway.  He tells them that they are on their way to St. Lucia.

Tune into The Bachelor next week for the overnight dates, a call from Ali and more drama. Goodnight!!
