The Race For The Win

The final three teams on CBS' The Amazing Race 15 dash from The Czech Republic to Las Vegas, Nevada where host Phil Keoghan will be waiting at the finish line. Cheyne and Meghan have dominated this season of the Race finishing first on six of the eleven legs. Will Sam/ Dan and  Brian/ Ericka pull off an upset and serve up a dish of disappointment to Meghan and Cheyne or will Karma demand its pound of flesh from Sam/ Dan?

As winners of the last leg of the race, Meghan/ Cheyne are first to receive their clue to fly 6,000 miles to the final destination city, Las Vegas. Once there, they will travel to the Graceland Wedding Chapel where they will receive their next clue from The King himself.

Meghan/ Cheyne had a 1 hour lead over Sam/ Dan who had a 3 hour lead over Brian/ Ericka, but all 3 teams wound up on the same flight to the end city. It was interesting to see that the first 2 teams did not know until they saw each other at the airport who the 3rd place team was. The teams must have been kept separate to some extent for them to not have known.

The teams make a pretty fast break from the airport and arrive together at the wedding chapel. All three teams pile in as Elvis is singing "Amazing Grace" to a blissful couple. The racers join in the singing. Elvis finishes and asks how they're doing. They ask for a clue and Elvis pulls them out and hands 1 to each team. Elvis wishes them luck as they collectively run out of the chapel.  As Ericka runs out the door she yells back to the couple to "Have a good life. Marriage is wonderful".

Teams open the clues outside and it directs them to go to Mandalay Bay. Ericka/ Brian's taxi driver breaks away from the other 2 taxis to go a different route. He gets them there first and they are first to receive the next clue. Roadblock - one team member from each team must perform a terrifying face-first rappel down the outside of the 600 ft building. Brian can't even get on a ladder so Ericka says she will do it. I have to give her credit here - there isn't even a whimper from her as she dons the gear and goes over the side of the building. Brian on the ground is so nervous as Ericka is basically walking down the side of the building.

Cheyne/ Meghan arrive and Cheyne is going to do it. The brothers are still in the taxi - their driver has gone the wrong way on a 1 way street or driveway - can't quite tell which. The brothers finally arrive and Sam is doing it.

Ericka finishes strong saying she feels like Spider Woman. They receive their clue to travel to the Mirage. Cheyne finishes and they head off. Sam makes up quite a bit of time and they head off.

Brian/ Ericka are 1st to arrive at the Mirage and they find the clue box inside. Teams must join the cast of Cirque Du Soleil's Love. One team member straps into a sling/ bungee. The other team member will pull the hanging person down to the floor and let them go to snap upwards where the flying member will grab a bouquet (the entire bouquet) of flowers. Ericka does it. She is getting frustrated. Cheyne/ Meghan come in - Meghan will do the flying and she gets it pretty quickly. They receive their next clue that simply asks What the most famous casino in Monaco is. Meghan/ Cheyne's driver isn't sure, but Meghan asks another taxi driver who says it's The Venetian.

The brothers show up and Dan is going to do the flying because he's taller. The brothers get the bouquet pretty quickly and Ericka tells Brian she wants out of the sling he has to do it. They switch and Ericka realizes she isn't strong enough to launch Brian so they have to switch again. Ericka is having a complete meltdown.

Sam/ Dan's taxi is right behind Meghan/ Cheyne's. The brothers don't know which casino it is, so at first they simply tell their driver to follow Meghan/ Cheyne's, but then they call Mandalay Bay. That casino tells them the answer to the most famous casino in Monaco is Monte Carlo. They tell their driver to try to turn without letting the taxi in front of them realize what they are doing, but the couple sees them turn off. Meghan/ Cheyne panic when they realize the brothers are going somewhere else.

Ericka is still freaking out, but she finally gets the bouquet. Brian knows that te answer to the clue is the Monte Carlo.

The brothers arrive at the casino and they see the clue box inside. After racing around the world for a prize of $1,000,000, racers must now pick one of 3 tables that each have 8400 poker chips in various denominations and count out $1,000,000 in chips. Once the dealer has confirmed their count, he will give them a special chip and their next clue.

Meghan/ Cheyne are at The Venetian where they ask the valet about the casino in Monaco - the valet says the Monte Carlo, but the team isn't convinced so t hey go inside and repeat the question where everyone says the Monte Carlo. They run back to their taxi to head over to the Monte Carlo.

Brian/ Ericka arrive at the casino and are surprised, but excited to see that Meghan/ Cheyne are not there. They start sifting through the chips on their table. While they are doing that Meghan/ Cheyne come in. The brothers are rushing and Sam is trying to double check the counting, but Dan is getting upset at him trying to double check.

All three teams are working feverishly and they all finish at about the same time. All three are waiting to hear from their dealer to see if they have counted correctly. Meghan/ Cheyne are first to hear that they are correct. The other 2 teams are incorrect.

Meghan/ Cheyne receive their next clue to travel to Suite 80 at the MGM Grand where Mr. Las Vegas (Wayne Newton) will tell them the location of the finish line.

Sam/ Dan get the count on the second try and receive their clue - they head out for the MGM.

Brian/ Ericka get their count wrong again and Ericka breaks down asking why this always happens to them.

Meghan/ Cheyne arrive at the suite to find Wayne Newton seated at a piano, playing. They are pleased to see him, but explain that they can't stay. They ask him where the finish line is and he says as if of course where else - the finish line is at his house. They ask where that is - and quickly follow that up with the question as to whether that is all he's going to tell them and he says yes, that's all. They leave.

While Meghan/ Cheyne are going down the elevator, Sa,/ Dan are going up. The brothers are shocked to see who it is, but they can't think of his name. Wayne starts off by saying Wayne and they get Wayne Newton. They ask where the finish line is and Wayne says it's at his house and they leave.

Meghan/ Cheyne tell their driver that the finish line is at Wayne Newton's house and he knows where it is. They go to the gate and it's locked. They get back in the car and start looking for another entrance. They find it and drive in the driveway. The previously eliminated racers are applauding as Meghan/ Cheyne run by giving high fives as they go by. They run up to the mat and hug Phil. Phil tells them 8 countries, 21 days, more than 25,000 miles - Meghan and Cheyne, you are the official winners of The Amazing Race.

Sam/ Dan arrive soon after in second place.

When Brian and Ericka arrive and Phil tells them they are the third team to arrive, Brian exclaims "WHAT?" and everyone laughs as he looks at the other 2 teams standing on the mat.

The episode cuts out as the racers are hugging each other and then everyone gathers on the mat applauding as the scene fades to the credits.
