Meghan and Cheyne This dating team from San Diego, California has remained cool under pressure and performed consistently in challenges throughout the race.. Of the 11 legs, they have finished in either first or second place 9 times. They have worked well as a unit while maintaining a strong focus on the goal. This couple's friendship began in elementary school and has brought them to the position of unquestionably being the team to beat.
These brothers from Liberty, Missouri are somewhat unexpected as a finalist team. According to their pre-race bios they are complete opposites in temperament with Sam being the older, optimistic but passive, medical school- attending brother to Dan's organized, spontaneous, business school life. This team started pretty well, but the pressures of the race led them to bicker. Dan seems to have a low threshold for frustration and lack of control. He has lost control verbally, but it seems to be in circumstances where Sam was calling the shots. They fostered a friendship with the poker players that proved beneficial in a couple of tasks and also absconded with another team's taxi. The brothers became closer a year ago when they discovered that they share the bond of being gay. This team is definitely beatable under the right conditions particularly where the stress level is high.
This couple from Nashville, Tennessee was married 2 years ago after meeting at a leadership seminar. Brian is a marketing manager and Ericka, winner of the Miss America pageant in 2004, is pursuing her dream of becoming a country singer. This team has been somewhat dysfunctional in the race as Ericka has repeatedly given in to whining as a means of dealing with her frustration. The time lost from these episodes has cost them dearly, leading them to finish in the bottom half of the pool of contestants for the last 6 legs of the race. A look at their pre-race bio however makes me think that their prize isn't the $1,000,000 but acceptance from Ericka's family - that is the prize they seem to be racing for. This bi-racial couple has faced opposition to their union from the start from her family. This team isn't racing for the money, but I doubt they would refuse it if the other teams stumble and break their collective 8 legs. David has an epic task ahead. Tune in to the last leg of The Amazing Race begins tomorrow night on CBS after 60 Minutes to see who wins the race to the final pit stop and runs the gauntlet to hear host Phil Keoghan say "You are the official winners of The Amazing Race".
