| ADAM LAMBERT: WHEN “REALITY” GOES TOO FAR! |

The controversy is raging right now over Adam Lambert’s appearance on the American Music Awards. Personally, I haven’t watched this awards show in years as I consider it pre-picked from the get-go but that’s only my opinion folks. The controversy though is something I see as a growing trend. The trend: reality shows acting badly.
But let’s look at three examples that have recently hit the news. Jon Gosselin made it big in “Jon and Kate Plus 8.” He’s either had a mid-life crisis or has overloaded on fame. Monday night (November 23rd) saw the last broadcast of his “gravy train” (whoops, I mean show). While he thinks he will still be able to pull in big bucks and get another program, the question really is: Will he? Let’s face it. His publicity hasn’t been the most positive thing lately and TLC is suing him for all the appearances he made about the divorce. If Kate can’t use the children in a show, it stands to reason that he can’t either. What does Jon have going for him? I don’t see how he can market himself to get another reality show much less anyone to take his calls!
Last one I choose to pick on is Adam Jasinik’s arrest for selling drugs. If you remember, Adam was on the winter season of Big Brother that we would all love to forget. While on the show, he made comments that cost him his job. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised when I read that he took his Big Brother winnings and decided to go along the East Coast selling drugs. Makes you wonder just what type of a person he is. When his 15 minutes in the spotlight is done, Adam had nowhere to turn. His choice was wrong and painted a damper on an already dismal Big Brother season. There will be other instances pop up in the news I’m sure. When fame ends, you have to go somewhere. Some find a way to make their lives work and have meaning. Some know when to pop up on television. And some try to continue the fame by acting up. Will there be more? Of course, there will be. I have one more thing to add about reality stars. There are a few instances you expect over the top behavior. Remember all the negative press that the Fox Reality Really Awards has gotten over the past few years. Well, this year, they decided to clean up the show. We didn’t see the people openly drinking. There was no hot tub. There was no Danny Bonaduce or Jonny Fairplay or Evil Dick. And no more awards shaped like martini glasses. And the show was boring! Fox Reality turned it into another award show! The one show you EXPECT the stars to act up and they didn’t. Well, live and learn, I guess. Let’s hope that lives aren’t affected negatively by the reality stars gone wrong!

"How could the Oscars or Grammys afford that? Their viewership is down as it is." .....maybe just what they need now, a little bit of Adam!!!!

I will never tune in to anything that he will appear on, he makes me sick after that performance. I am so happy to hear he was pulled from The Today Show (I think that was the morning show that canceled him) tomorrow.

It sucks being an artist when there's more discussion about his antics on stage than his singing itself. He should be concerned that he put on a truly lousy performance at the AMA

Since the Grammy ratings are down they'd be crazy to pass up a chance to have Adam on. People guaranteed to watch---what could be better? ABC got a few complaints, but they also got high ratings because of Adam. CBS rocks for picking him up for the Early Show when GMA ditched him!

I really think his niche is Broadway. He is a performer first in my eyes. And aside from the poor taste he chose to show, his vocals were absolutely awful. I don't know if it was him or if the sound had something to do with it but he sounded much better on AI.
He is also scheduled to appear on Letterman, maybe tomorrow? It was arranged way before the awards show though. written by Bill, November 24, 2009
Adam Lambert should never have made it as far as he did on American Idol. Screaming does not make him a singer and vulgarity does not make him a performer. I keep my comments to my self about homosexual's but I think most would say that Adam is over the top because he is so blatant in the way he dresses and his behavior.

Well, he didn't do anything we haven't seen before and FCC said there will be no fines because it was aired outside the family friendly time. So I don't know what the fuss is about. It happened with Elvis--maybe Mr. Lambert will be around a long time.

ya know... his after show comments rang true to a point... people didnt freak out and cancel brittany or madonna when they kissed on stage... however... is it me or is he now using his gay voice,, which he rarely used on AI. I mean a really gay voice LOL... not that it matters, we all knew he was gay... but I think this performance is going to get him less work... it was just terrible. He will be a nobody in a few years. and yes he should go back to broadway.. no place in mainstream for screaming

Terri you are blowing smoke up your own ass! Elvis never ever ground a mans face into his crotch!

Kissing on stage be it male or female or same sex is ho hum, grnding a man's face into your crotch is not the same as kissing. If you need to be told so you require a strong morality check.

I also had a real problem with the chains and all that implies. You can push the limit -- and the kiss wasn't that bad -- but the crotch stuff and the chains made it too much.

Adam admits he did not sing well on AMA. Watched him this morning on the Early Show, he was fantastic. He sang two other songs from his album. Very good.
He should not have done what he did on Network television. It was really a bad move on his part. But come on folks he didn't kill someone. written by J Rowland, November 26, 2009
Kuddos to Adam for being himself and not selling out! I loved this show, he is provocative and he pushes the envelope. Sure he may need to refine his style a bit, but this was hot and I am definitely entertained by him!

You idiot. Comparing Adam Lambert, an iconic future legend to a drug selling nobody. LMAO see how your predictions came true? His album went gold in two months and he's a bone fide industry superstar. BTW, he did more for LGBT in that one performance than anyone else in the history of entertainment. Deal with it. Queer nation is here to stay and they are your neighbors, children and siblings.
