Dancing With The StarsThe Final Dance Hello and welcome to ABC' Dancing With The Stars, THE FINALE! Tonight, Donny, Kelly and Mya have one last chance to prove they have what it takes to win the mirror ball trophy with one last ballroom or Latin dance, their freestyle and a mega mix challenge, where the judges will score them side by side. Kelly is up first with her Argentine Tango. She and Louis look back at their time on the show and talk about the best and worst moments. During practice, they get a visit from Carrie Ann, who offers kind words and some tips for their routine. (Oh, did anyone realize there was no Dance Master this season? It just dawned on me now.) The dance is hot, sexy and truly shows how she has transformed into a dancer. The footwork, the lines, the passion behind it---WOW! Len says she epitomizes what the show is all about. Bruno says she is a revelation this season and although he nitpicks a bit, he says he likes it. Carrie Ann talks about how proud she is and adds that she also loves it! Scores: 9-9-8=26 out of 30. Mya and Dmitry are up next with their paso doble. After they give their own montage, Len comes in to help them make it as good as possible. First, no they DIDN’T with remaking Queen. WRONG!!!!!!!! The dance was good, but to me, it was lacking something, but then again, the music could have been distracting me. Bruno thinks it was amazing. Carrie Ann calls her the queen of the paso doble. Len compares them to Mel B. and Maks. Scores triple 10s for a 30 out of 30! Donny and Kym also take a walk down memory lane before Bruno comes to help them with their cha cha cha. He wants Donny to win because he is talented, not because of who he is. OK, why are they dressed like robots? OK, maybe not robots, but it kind of looks way to shiny. Donny can definitely sell this dance like nobody’s business, although it was a bit retro, he still did a great job. Hey, Marie and Gilles! Steve-O! And Lisa, Harry and Jane!! Carrie Ann squeals over how much she likes it. Len calls him ding dong Donny and says this was a cha cha cha. Bruno also talks about how much he likes it. Score: triple 9s for a 27 out of 30. Nick Kosovich is choreographing the mega mix and everyone puts everything into it, making sure each dance is perfect as they perform side by side. The Viennese waltz is up first, followed by the samba and jive. To me, it seems like a waste because it is so hard to focus on each individual couple. The same thing happened during the Mambo Knockout. There was too much going on to actually focus on anything specific. Len says it was hard to judge and says it is too close to call. Bruno compliments each of them on their strengths. Carrie Ann also talks about how much she loves them and how well they all did. Judges' Scores: 1st - Mya and Dmitry (30 points) 2nd - Donny and Kym (29 points) 3rd - Kelly and Louis (26 points) Kelly and Louis are up next after their freestyle. They picked ‘I Will Survive’ by Gloria Gaynor as their song. The dance is fun and exciting, but I can’t believe he dropped her! Louis!!! They recover well though and finish it off to be a pretty amazing routine. Bruno says she never looked more beautiful. He gushes over it, which makes her parents happy! Carrie Ann says she reminds them of who they want t be in their situation. Len says he enjoyed watching her. Scores: triple 8s for a 24 out of 30. Mya and Dmitry’s freestyle is next. I love this song—‘You Can’t Stop The Beat’ from Hairspray, which is one of my favorite movies. I like it, but since this is such a well known dance to Broadway fans, I am not sure how well it will go over with them. Carrie Ann thinks it was fun, but not outstanding. Carrie Ann reminds her that she is competing with Adam Shankman’s version. Len thinks it didn’t go anywhere. Bruno thinks it had all the vibrance, but thinks it was lacking something. Scores: 9-9-9 for a 27 out of 30. Donny and Kym have the final freestyle—and dance---of the night. They pay tribute to his showbiz roots with this dance. He quips that he will beat Marie. It has a Broadway/Las Vegas feel to it and I have to admit, this is the best freestyle of the night. Very, very good! I have nothing bad to say about it. Len loves it! Bruno jumps up and down and screams over how much he enjoyed it. Carrie Ann welcomes him to the Freestyle Hall of Fame. Scores: triple 10s for a perfect score!! Final Scoreboard Mya and Dmitry - 87 Donny and Kym - 85 Kelly and Louis - 76 We get a recap of scores and dances as Tom and Samantha remind us to vote. Tune in tomorrow to Dancing With The Stars for Whitney Houston, dance offs, Ashley Hamilton’s induction to the Losers’ Club, the return of fan favorites and of course, the crowning of the season nine champion.
