Estonian Hotties on The Amazing Race

CBS' The Amazing Race continues tonight as the five remaining teams race to Estonia for the next leg. After last week's non-elimination leg, Matt and Gary were saved to race another day, but can they overcome the burden of a speed bump to finish in 4th place or better tonight to break the string of delayed eliminations that the speed bump has meant since its inception?
I hope so ...

As winners of the last leg of the race Flight Time and Big Easy are first to receive their clue to travel 236 miles by ferry across the Baltic Sea to Tallinn, Estonia. Once there they must figure out how to open the secret door at Mustpeade Maja - the secret lair of the Brotherhood of the Blackheads. Along with a clue, they receive a set of keys to unlock the door. The Globetrotters leave at 2:23 AM and they discover that the ferry doesn't leave until 5:45 PM.

All teams are on the ferry for the 16 hour trip to Estonia. When they arrive they each take a taxi  to the Mustpeade Maja. The brothers and Meghan/ Cheyne are first to arrive - they see the stand for Matt and Gary's speed bump. They try their keys until an alarm sounds and the door opens - all 4 scoot through and pull the door shut behind them. They see the clue box and get their next clue. Road Block. One team member will descend into the cellar and find a candelabra that has a room number tag on it. They will go to the room number that's on the tag. In the room the member will find a society member who will hand them an apparently blank scroll. The racer must figure out that a message will be revealed when the scroll is held over the heat of the candelabra.

Brian/ Erika and Matt/ Gary run up. Team Pinkie check out their speed bump - the team must find a saunabuss, strip down, and take a 5 minute sauna with some locals. Gary likes the idea of that as they run off.

Cheyne and Sam head down to the cellar as Brian / Erika get in as do the Globetrotters. Flight Time and Erika do the task.

Flight Time is first to find his tag and the matching room. When he gets his scroll, he picks up a nearby crayon and starts scribbling on the scroll thinking it will reveal the message.

Team Pinkie enjoys the saunnabus.

Erika finds her room and scroll next. And Sam and Cheyne have their's too. They are all now trying to use the light of the candles to see the message by looking at the scroll at different angles. Cheyne and then Erika are first to see the message of "Pikk Hermann Tower Garden".

Gary and Matt finish the speed bump and pretty quickly get back to the Mustpeade Maja and get in. Gary tells Matt to do the task. Matt is stumped by the term candelabra as he asks the men first if they are a candelabra and then if they can lead him to a secret room.

The Globetrotters are on their way to the next clue now too.

Matt heads down to the cellar and says out loud that candelabra sounds like candle. He heads over to the table, looks at the candles and sees the room tags. The guys in the room raise their cups to him as he takes the candle and heads back up the stairs to find the room. He is confident in what he is looking for now.

Cheyne/ Meghan  and find the clue box first. Detour. Surf or Sling. In Surf, teams will go out into a bag and play mud volleyball with a local team of players. They must slog in the mud and score 5 points to receive their next clue. In Sling, teams will go into the bog and use a slingshot to shoot small vegetables at a moose sign. When they hit the moose sign directly, the table in front of the sign will collapse, dumping a collection of cabbages and their next clue onto the ground.

Both teams pick the volleyball task and to run to find a taxi. Both see a taxi and Cheyne/ Meghan call it and Brian defers to them. Brian asks them to call another cab for them as they pull away from the curb. The driver pulls out his cell phone to call for another cab when Cheyne/ Meghan tell the driver not to call a cab for them.

Matt sees "Pikk Hermann Tower" but doesn't stay long enough to see the garden part of the message. Matt and Gary run outside and ask for directions from people in the area. Someone pulls out a map and points to a place on the map - perhaps an actual tower rather than a garden near the tower?

Sam/ Dan are looking for the clue box and the Globetrotters are following them. The brothers find the box, read th e clue and start looking for a taxi. They see one and ask the occupants if they would give the taxi to the brothers. The occupant says no, but the driver calls for another taxi. As a taxi drives toward them, the Globetrotters race toward the taxi as the brothers start running too. The teams do not agree whose taxi it is, but they do finally agree to share the taxi (it's a minivan type taxi).

The brothers are frustrated as they talk to the camera about how the Globetrotters are not doing their thing on the race, but instead are letting Sam/ an doing all of the work.

Sure enough, Matt and Gary are looking for - and find the tower. They realize the entrance is on the other side of the wall so they run towards the end o f the wall so they can find the entrance. Not looking good for these 2 right now.

Meghan/ Cheyne reveal that the clue says that the racers may strip down to their underwear if they choose. Meghan just makes a weird face and declines. The camera cuts to Erika/ Brian who are holding a similar conversation. Erika says that she has a string thong on so it isn't going to happen. In both cases the taxi driver looks back toward his fares - apparently at the topic of the conversations going on in their respective back seats.

The Globetrotters and the brothers are still in the taxi and each team is taking turns talking to the camera (in front of the other team) as they try to hash out whose taxi it was..

Meanwhile back to Matt and Gary... they run to the other side of the wall and look for a way into the tower. They run within sight of the clue box, but they are not looking in that direction (they are running between the clue box and the tower - looking at the tower. The clue box is behind them). Matt saw the sign that said it's Pikk Hermann Tower - he's sure it's the right place, but they can't figure out how to get in. They say that they think they are way behind - Gary looks both dejected and desperate. They run back again and suddenly Matt sees the clue box. They pick the slingshot. They get a taxi, but their driver doesn't know where he's going so he calls his buddy, taxi driver #2. Number 2 is driving Meghan/ Cheyne. While the drivers are talking, Matt is telling their driver to tell #2 to drive slowly. Number 2 tells his buddy that he's busy and doesn't have time to talk and ends the conversation.  Number 2 shares the conversation with Meghan/ Cheyne who applaud their driver's handling of the conversation.

Meghan/ Cheyne arrive at the bog, change into some shorts,  and pick a pair of players to play against. The players are in speedo type swimsuits for the guys and 1-piecers for the gals. The racers pretty quickly have a score of 3 - 0. They need 2 more points.

Brian/ Erika, The Globetrotters, and the brothers are at the trail head, but they don't see a marked trail. The clue specifies that they need to follow a marked trail. The camera flashes a couple of times to the arrow that marks the way.

Meghan/ Cheyne are exhausted playing in the mud. The opposing players have gotten some points to catch up. Finally Cheyne/ Meghan get their 2 points and the next clue to travel to Keava Overlook Tower which is farther into the bog. The team is running on a wooden boardwalk. They reach Phil who welcomes them as Team #1. Phil tells them they missed out on the saunabuss - the speed bump for this leg of the race so instead they have won a cedar sauna to enjoy after the race. Their reaction wasn't exactly thrilled.

The 3 teams suddenly see a marker and they race off down the path. The brothers are able to get to the volleyball "court" first ahead of the Globetrotters - barely. Only 2 teams can play at a time so as Sam and Dan get ready to play (in their underwear), Brian/ Erika decide they have nothing to lose by doing the slingshot while they're waiting. They strap on some snowshoe like footgear to walk over (rather than through) the fragile bog. The Globetrotters are playing in the white with red stripe shorts that are standard Globetrotters uniforms on the basketball court - they changed while the taxi was still driving.

As the brothers are stripping they are sizing up the players and comment about the "Estonian Hotties" - and they are not talking about the girls. As the brothers starts playing, the editing team has pixilated the uhh front of the brothers' underwear if you catch my drift. It was probably distracting for both them and the team they were playing...

Neither team seems to be doing very well. The Globetrotters expected that the local players would be quaking when they saw how tall the Globetrotters are, but that doesn't seem to be the case. The teams are playing and each of the race teams is scoring - pretty much staying even with each other.

Brian and Erika are still shooting the slingshot and getting the hang of it, but no direct hit yet.

Matt and Gary are still riding in the taxi as their driver tries to find the destination.

The Globetrotters get their 5 points and head down the boardwalk. The brothers finish and they start running. The Globetrotters realize they are running in the wrong direction so they turn around and soon catch up with the brothers. Flight Time half slips on the boardwalk, but manages to catch his balance before he falls all the way. As the 2 teams continued to race toward the tower, Flight Time slipped again and went all the way down this time. As he went down he and Dan got tangled and Dan went down as well. Dan got up and the brothers continued to run as the Globetrotters walked the rest of he way.

The 2 teams wind up on the mat together with Phil checking the brothers in as Team #2 and the ball players as Team #3. Phil comments that Big Easy looks like he is wanting to kick some butt and we see Big Easy making a kind of mean, scary face. Phil asks what happened, was it elbow play? Dan said No, they were running when the Globetrotters came up behind them and tried to push him out of the way, and that they both fell. Big Easy said that they hadn't realized that the elbow and physical stuff was in play, but now they knew. Dan protests that they were running and the Globetrotters ran up beside him and he (Flight Time) fell and then he (Dan) fell. Big Easy says it is what it is. He's 6'10, 260 lbs and they'll do what they gotta do. Flight Time is staying conspicuously quiet. The brothers feel that the ball players "have a vengeance" against them. Privately to the camera, Dan says what are they (the Globetrotters) going to do punch them (Sam and Dan) or something? Privately Big Easy told the camera that if it had been the final leg he thinks the ball players would have gone right through the brothers.

Matt and Gary's driver finds where he's looking for. They run down the path talking about it being do or die.

Brian and Erika are still shooting. And Brian suddenly gets it. They couple runs down the boardwalk and finds Phil at the tower. Phil greets them and asks them if they know whether they are last or not and they say no. Phil tells them he will put them out of their misery -  they are Team #4. They are thrilled to hear it.

Matt and Gary run up to the volleyball courts and put the shoes on to walk over to do the slingshot. As the guys were running toward the task, we hear Gary doing a voiceover about how they had wanted to have fun on the race and get to know each oter better. He says he thinks they accomplished that. We see the father and son shooting at the moose sign and hear Matt agree with his dad. He says the things they've done and things they've seen - Gary laughs and asks where else can you be in the middle of a bog shooting radishes at a moose target? Gary shoots the radish that collapses the table of cabbages.

Gary and Matt run up to the tower and Phil tells him they are the last to arrive and that they have been eliminated from the race. They are understandably disappointed. Gary says that they just didn't have their A game today. Gary looks for the words to explain what the race meant to him - to them. He looks at Matt for help and Matt smiles and said quite an adventure as the 2 high 5. Phil asks if they got what they wanted from the race and both Matt and Gary smile, say yes - and more. Matt agrees as Gary adds that you can't put a price on this experience. Gary gets emotional as he says that it's been great and they'll take it for many, many years. Gary says that he learned he had to let things go and let Matt do things. Matt hugs his dad. Matt adds that he never wants to see another candelabra. The 2 hug and Gary tells Matt he loves him just he way he is. The 2 walk down the boardwalk arm in arm.

Next week on The Amazing Race teams race to Prague where the Globetrotters practice their ballet moves and tune up their voices in a concert hall. Meanwhile Sam and Dan get sneaky at the Detour when they take Brian and Erika's taxi (to go to the other half of the Detour?) causing Erika to take off the gloves and declare open season on jugulars.
