Guess sneaking those exercise bikes and other equipment into Shay's room worked, but not well enough for three of the four late-night-exercisers to fall below the yellow line, sending Daniel and Shay home. Can't help but wonder if they would have lost even more weight had they been getting a good night's sleep instead of working out on the sly... Just a thought. When are they going to learn not to tempt fate with the trash talk (even though it seemed rehearsed) about young versus old! Never underestimate the willpower of the older generation, after all, they know a little about tightening their belts (pun intended) and the health benefits of getting a good nights sleep.
But... all is not lost. If you stayed tuned to NBC after the show, both Daniel and Shay appeared on the Jay Leno Show which was more like an update on how they are doing in their weight loss journey. Is this NBC's new way of showing the transformations? Shay looks really good but has a long way to go - we must remind ourselves that she was 476 pounds - repeat that to yourself, 476 pounds. In order for her to have the body like the other contestants, she would have to drop 300 pounds - and that would be almost impossible and probably unhealthy to do in a matter of months. Shay did tell Jay that she has lost 150 pounds so far - and we're what, 3 weeks from the Finale. The audience ohh'd and ahh'd when Shay and Daniel stepped out and stood next to their "before" pictures. Daniel says he has lost about 230 pounds to which Jay replied, "you have lost a me". Daniel told the audience that he was the heaviest contestant ever, until Shay took the title from him. He, thankfully, reminded everyone that it has taken him a year to drop the 230 pounds. Shay told Jay that she has 6 trainers, one for each day she works out and that helps her keep each day fresh, keeping her from getting in a rut. Ross Matthews joined them with Daniel's shirt from Season 7. He and Daniel got into the shirt together... with room to spare. It was fun to see and I'm so happy that people who may not be fans of the show got the chance to see just how much they have accomplished. I also saw some video of Tracey on the Today Show and she looked fantastic. You might want to keep an eye on the Today Show just in case Daniel and Shay make an appearance. Isn't it rather strange that the producers are not keeping them under wraps for the Finale? Maybe it's their way of motivating the other at-home contestants by seeing what they are up against in real time. If so, this Finale could have some huge numbers!
Tim Gunn is back, along with Tabatha Coffey, from Bravo's reality show "Tabatha's Salon Takeover" and that means it's time for one of the most eagerly-anticipated events every season -- “The Biggest Loser” makeover episode! They will help the remaining six contestants look fabulous before they give speeches about their weight loss journeys to motivate others at a TV Guide Magazine event. Then it’s time for amazing reveals and emotional reunions, when the made-over contestants show off their incredible new looks to loved ones flown in to help them celebrate their big day and hear their emotional speeches. I love to watch them change their hair and style of clothing to match the new bodies they are creating for themselves. I can't wait to see how they look, especially Liz. Even though Helen was also an "older" contestant, I relate more to Liz because she has so much more personality and is so warm, where Helen came off as a little cold at times. I literally jumped up and down when she dropped that 12 pounds, securing herself another week and a step closer to the prize. Until that moment, I had no idea who I would be Later, the contestants face a high-flying challenge across a canyon divide, (sound familiar?) and the winner is rewarded with a two-week trip to “The Biggest Loser” resort at Fitness Ridge in southern Utah. Then a tense elimination follows the weigh-in, sending another contestant home. Alison Sweeney hosts the series, and trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels also star. Make sure you have your box of tissues next to you as the makeover show is always super emotional as the families see our contestants for the first time in weeks. And finally a program note, the show will air starting 30 minutes later this week. Hope you'll join us for the makeovers on the Biggest Loser Second Chance on Tuesday, November 17, at 8:30/7:30c on NBC. Extended Video Preview
