Dancing with the Stars
IN MEMORY OF TINKCRZY – SHARON BALIK

Today, I received news that Sharon (Tink) Balik was in serious condition in the hospital.  By the time I got to the website she was so dedicated to, she had died. It is with sadness and much grief that I write this as a tribute to a friend.

While most on the internet and those especially associated with ballroom knew her online as Tinkcrzy, I knew her as Sharon and a dedicated friend. We had been moderators at another board together and went through some interesting times there. We both left and she moved here to report on her love – ballroom dancing and anything to do with “dance.” When she got started with her reviews, she would often email or call me about the world of dance and I knew enough about stuff that was done on “So You Think You Can Dance” to share the love with her. She’s the one who introduced me to this site and brought me on board to write for such shows as “Hell’s Kitchen” and “America’s Got Talent.” We seem to often gravitate to the same interests.

It didn’t surprise me when Tink became dedicated to ballroom. It started with “Dancing with the Stars” but few of you know that she moved on to taking ballroom lessons. She and Tim did this as a couple. I’m not sure how much Tim enjoyed it but Sharon loved the experience! She became friends with many of the dancers you have seen on “Dancing with the Stars” and was very excited when she got the opportunity to write and work for the Ballroom Dance Channel. She was often in the audience during the live shows. I remember a message I got from her the first night she attended! Her excitement showed in every word! Her love for ballroom dancing continued to grow as she learned more about working with web design and websites.

Sharon left us at a young age and in my book to soon! I will remember the conversations we had on a wide range of topics. I will miss her enthusiasm and love of life. She loved God, her family, her country and ballroom. I extend my heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends on the West Coast. I want them to know she was respected and loved by people all over the country.
