Group Three Results and Wild Cards Announced - No Surprises!

Seacrest looks the fanciest he has all of the American Idol Season with a black suit and black tie.  The suit fits well, but the big black tie makes him look like a renegade groomsman rather than the host of Fox' reality staple.  Paula looks amazing in a dark blue one-shoulder ruffly satin top, and Simon's new haircut still looks like one-eighth of a Kid (of Kid 'N Play) haircut.

We have a montage of all the finalists - enough of these!  For the group number, everyone sings Katy Perry's "Hot 'N Cold", and it's pretty lame - especially because the guys are sitting down and have some "choreography" that involves them crossing and uncrossing their legs - WOW.  Are these the same people who choreograph Miss America (not to be confused with Miss USA)?  I didn't think anything could be worse than the group number from the first week of semi-finals, but this really went the extra mile with cheese factor.

Seacrest chats up a few people, including Nathaniel "It's On My Skin" Marshall and Jorge Nunez, who appear to be feeling pretty good about themselves.

He goes right onto reveal that the first person through is OBVIOUSLY Lil Rounds.  Seacrest asks Kara what America should expect from Lil throughout the competition, and Kara says "ridiculous vocals".  Lil sings her song and Paula does her little Paula dance-y thing in the back.

Now Seacrest has the entire front row stand up (Arianna, Taylor, Alex, Kendall and Scott) and says that after the commercial break, we'll find out which one of these people made it through (gee, could it be Scott?).  When we get back from commercial, Arianna stands up.  She's not in the Top 12.  Taylor stands up.  It's not her either.  It ain't Alex.  Now it's Kendall v. Scott.  Blonde v. Blind!!!!  And it's SCOTT!  RIGHT ON!  He is so humble/thankful, and Randy says he looks forward to Scott playing the piano.

After the break, it's our two drama queens:  Nathaniel "It's On My Skin" Marshall and Kristen McNamara.  They are always making contrived facial expressions whenever Seacrest says anything.  I can imagine them practicing their "Wow, OMG!" faces at home in the mirror.  The could always go on America's Next Top Model with that....  Anyway, it's a no for both of them..."for now".

Next Von and Felicia are asked to stand up.  Neither of them makes it through...."for now".

Seacrest brings Jorge and Ju'Not onto the stage with him.  Ryan says one of them is through, and Ju'Not has an "Oh shit" look on his face because he realizes it's not him.  Ryan says we'll find out...right...NOW who it is!  And it's Jorge, who cries again.  Awww.

Now we have all the rejected semi-finalists sitting upstairs, waiting to find out who will make it to the wildcard - and possibly the finals.  Ryan asks Simon why this system is in place.  Simon says this allows people (e.g. Clay Aiken and Jennifer Hudson) to have a second chance despite stupid song choices and other fubars.  Simon says it's a difficult decision, and that even during the last break, they had changed their minds about one of the wildcard slots.

The wildcards are announced, and they are:

Von Smith!  Paula's advice to him is not to be himself and not wear a hat.

Jasmine Murray!  Kara says she has a lot of commercial appeal despite some ups and downs, and that she now has to pick the right song, kill them with vocals and stay in her "lane", which is basically Rhianna-esque songs.

Ricky Braddy!  He gets no judges' advice.  O...K...?

Megan Corkrey!  No advice for Megan either, but she tells Seacrest she will be herself and sing her heart out.

Tatiana Del Toro?!?!?!?!?!?!  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  She is sobbing like a lunatic and Simon does a hilarious impression of her, closing his eyes and putting one hand over his heart, haha.  Tat is falling to the ground and thanking everyone. WOW.

Matt Giraud!  Thank goodness.  He promises to bring it.

Jesse Langseth!  Paula says she was the last-minute change - I wonder who was in her spot!

And finally...

Anoooooooooooooop Dawg!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yeah!!!  Simon says this was an easy decision because they always liked him.  Anoop looks great in a preppy cardigan and green knit tie.  Jesse looks like she wants to jump his bones for some reason...hmmmm....

Jorge gets to finish out the show with his song.  Yaay!

I think this is a pretty good Wild Card group for this season's American Idol.  I don't really agree with Tatiana, Von and Ricky but I honestly can't think of any other contestants who would have been more deserving (maaaybe Kendall or Jackie?).  But anyway, I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow night!  Only one person will make it out of the Wild Card round. I have no idea who it'll be, but I really hope it's ANOOP DAAAAAWG!!!!!!!!
