The Biggest Loser: Families Back to the Eighties!
Welcome to another week of NBC' The Biggest Loser: Families. Last week, we said goodbye to Brady, which left Vicky wanting revenge on Amy for voting him off. Bob comforts her, telling her she is here to take care of herself first and foremost and to look past the game play. They have a nice heart to heart talk that really helps her get her groove back.
I LOVE THE EIGHTIES
Tonight Alison decided to make it eighties week, complete with eighties clothes and slang. It is actually very cute and fun. Team Jillian gets a choreographer to teach them how to break dance. Team Bob does step aerobics with a kind of Jane Fonda workout thrown in. He tells them they need to move forward from last weeks elimination and focus on their goals.
The eighties challenge this week contains trivia while holding 50% of their body weight--getting more or less depending on their answers. The people who guess correctly give water to opponents. The winner gets wireless headsets for the family, wireless workouts recorded by Bob and the choice of a one pound penalty for an opponent or $5,000.
Since 1980, obesity has doubled. Since Ed guessed incorrectly, he gets more water.
The most popular workout video in the eighties was Buns of Steel, which Heba correctly guessed, so she gave Coleen more water.
In 1985, obesity was officially declared a disease. Since Coleen answered correctly, she gave Ed more water. Since water falls on him, he is out of the game.
Diabetes increased by 300% since 1980. Since Coleen guessed wrong, she gets more water.
Teen boys drink more soda than milk these days. Since Amy guessed correctly, she gives more water to Vicky.
In 1985, the most common dress size was an eight. Renee got it wrong, so she is given more water.
Coleen is out, along with Amy.
Women between the ages of 20 and 39 eat 385 extra calories, causing them to gain 26.7 pounds per year. Heba guesses wrong, so she is given more water.
Vicky is drenched, so she is out as well.
In 1982, Olivia Newton John won a Grammy for Let's Get Physical. Since Heba guesses correctly, she gives Renee more water.
Heba is out and Renee decides to let Michelle win.
TIME WITH BOB
After the challenge, Bob takes a walk with Heba and Vicky, telling them to get over their drama with Amy. He reminds them that they are in this together and need to start acting like it. However, Vicky refuses to listen and is still determined to get her revenge.
At the last chance work out, Jillian is determined to keep pushing so they can knock out another member of the blue team. She makes all of them cry, but they still push through it and end up having a fantastic work out.
HOLIDAY TIP AND STORAGE ADVICE Use reusable plates, not paper ones.
The second hour kicks off with Jillian teaching her girls how to properly store their vegetables with Ziploc bags.
COLEEN THE MODEL
Coleen is thrilled because she can now fit into a size medium shirt. She happily runs to model it for the other girls, who are excited for her and congratulate her for reaching her mini goal.
AMY VS. VICKY
Amy apologizes to Vicky for voting off Brady, and while she is nice to her face, it is clear she doesn't trust her.
TRAINER TIP Apples, nuts and string cheese are good snacks.
LAST CHANCE WORKOUT WITH BOB Bob works his teams harder than ever because of the possibility that Michelle gives them the one pound penalty.
WEIGH IN At the weigh in, Michelle decides that she is taking the one pound penalty and giving it to Vicky, who says she is prepared and hopes for the best.
Results: Michelle: 186--8 pounds lost. Renee: 207--8 pounds lost. Ed: 262--11 pounds lost. Heba: 231--7 pounds lost. Coleen: 167--3 pounds lost. Amy C.; 173--8 pounds lost. Vicky: 187--6 pounds lost-1 pound penalty=5 pounds lost.
ELIMINATION AND A LOOK AT WHERE THEY ARE NOW
This means that Coleen and Vicky are in the bottom two. Coleen is upset, but Jillian tells her no matter what, she is going to be fine. There is no deliberation tonight, so everyone goes straight to the elimination room.
After Coleen and Vicky give a speech on why they want to stay, everyone goes to vote. In the end, Coleen is sent home. She is given a beautiful, emotional reunion with her family and boyfriend.
After leaving campus, she reveals that she is now a size ten and hopes to weigh 147 at the finale.
Next week is Thanksgiving on The Biggest Loser: Families with drama and more weigh ins. See you next week!
