Thursday night's premiere episodes of SURVIVOR GABON: "Earth's Last Eden" had lots of new characters, but few surprises in its back to back two hour premiere.
Survivor Gabon followed the usual editing pattern: A) focus on blossoming relationships B) Show contestants reluctance for assuming leadership and C)" How the "friendless" are first targeted then eliminated. The FANG Tribe if it did little else; distinguished themselves by not give into the temptation of eliminating the eldest female, Gillian Larson, (60) despite its losses in three consecutive challenges. Instead they booted physically stronger Michelle Chase (24) who was not much interested in bonding with the older members of her Team nor being much of a contributor to camp life. Larson, recognizing the huge target she was now carrying, attempted to flip the game early on as a "surprise maneuver" but it was too early for those in the pecking chain to "rock the boat" Larson's character was an antithesis to abrasive Randy Baily, who professed he would rather sit on his ass and watch his Team burn than to lift a finger. With Earth Mother Gillian now gone the road seems wide open for Baily to pull the strings from behind the scenes and steamroll more "weak" players should they continue being Pagonged. Mind you, he's doing this with no hint of a formal alliance, and sealing it with an "I don't care attitude." but he will be the first to point out the three people trying to go with the majority and be under the radar Susie, Ken, Crystal) As long as he doesn't upset the alpha males, he can continue to bully out a few more people pre-merge before the red team's "boys club" turns it around on him ending "Randy's rein." Although Fang is starting to show some signs of working as a Team, its retired leader GC is destined for pre-jury boot not far after the last few female FANG members are sent packing. Its going to take a bit of resourcefulness, to compensate for the physical strength and cohesive Team that Kota possesses. The red tribe is weaker because it has both the smallest people and largest share of older cast. At Kota, there's also have an ample share of beautiful people, but you have an extremely positive mind set as evidenced by most performing Ace's Gordon's pre-challenge Yoga in their underwear. Gordon's level of smugness to matches his pretentious British accent. The Bond image he's playing could make him a villain and a hero with the television viewers. He might be playing the "I don't need the money" card in hope of being unlikeable enough to be dragged to the end. This line with the "Good vs. Evil" plot lines that Probst said we would see this season. Ace could go either way as pre- or early merge boot. Co-leadership between the alpha males is viable at Kota, making the remaining female tribe members expendable The yellow tribe does extremely well, and the jury will be filled primarily with members of Kota
