Gets A New Judge

American Idol has decided to shake things up by bringing in Kara DioGuardi as a judge.

"We are turning the heat up on 'Idol' this year and are thrilled to welcome Kara to the judges' table," 'Idol' creator Simon Fuller said in a statement.  "She is a smart, sassy lady, and one of America's most successful songwriters. We know she will bring a new level of energy and excitement to the show," Fuller added.

The Grammy-nominated DioGuardi has written songs for Christina Aguilera, the Jonas Brothers, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, and even a few 'Idol' alums, including Clay Aiken, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.
