Recap For March 11, 2012

The next leg of the race begins where we left off in Paraguay. Art and JJ who were first to arrive at the pit stop are the first to depart from the pitstop. They open the next clue to reveal teams are headed to Turnin, Italy. Once they land teams must choose a car and drive themselves to the Langotto Building to find their next clue.
JJ and Art head directly to a travel agent to get their tickets. Rachel and Brendon follow suit and also head to a travel agency. They are quickly followed by everyone other than Bopper and Mark. Bopper and Mark arrive at the airport only to discover that they must go back and go to a travel agency.
All teams are on the same flight except for Bopper and Mark. The boys discover their flight is leaving about an hour and 15 minutes after everyone else. They try and get on the same flight as everyone else but are unable to putting them an hour and 15 minutes behind everyone else.
Teams have now arrived in Turnin, Italy. But they are having a difficult time driving as they are driving on a lot of train tracks, they can’t understand the street signs.
Rachel and Brenden, Art and JJ are the first to arrive to the Langotto Building. Art and JJ reach the next clue first. It’s a fast forward. A fast forward allows one team to move past all other tasks and go directly to the pit stop once they complete the task. In this fast forward one team member must wear a small version of the building on their head and the other must perfectly land an airplane on their head. Art and JJ decide to go for the Fast Forward.
Meanwhile Rachel and Brendon decide not to do the fast forward. The next clue is a roadblock. One team member must repel down the inside of the Langotto building and retrieve a clue hanging in midair. Team members only have 2 minutes to repel to the bottom and get their clue if they go over the 2 minutes them must start again.
Rachel is doing the roadblock for her team, so is Danny for his team. Both teams are quick to finish. They are headed to an old Ford Museum. Teams must wonder around the museum looking for a specific car that holds their next clue.
Meanwhile Rachel and Dave have arrived at roadblock, so have Jamie and Nary. Rachel is doing the roadblock, but she goes over her two minutes and must start again. Dave wants to go for the fast forward because he is a pilot and would be able to do it but Rachel isn’t listening to him.
Back at the fast forward Art and JJ are really struggling, it takes a long time for them to complete it. But once they finally do they are on the way to the next pit stop located at Piazza Castello.
Stacy and Kerri have arrived at the roadblock. Stacy is doing the roadblock, but Kerri feels she should have done the roadblock as Stacy is afraid of heights.
Brendon and Rachel find the car they are looking for and discover their next clue written on a penny. Teams must use the penny to figure out that they must drive themselves to Mole Antonelianna once there they will ride the elevator all the way to the top to retrieve their next clue.
Rachel and Brendon have no clue what to do with the penny. They are trying to see if they need to put it anywhere. While Rachel and Dave have also found their penny and are quick to figure out what they are to head followed by Danny and Joey.
Bopper and Mark have arrived in Italy.
Rachel and Brendon are once again fighting. Brendon asks if Rachel wants to quit, but Rachel says she doesn’t but thinks Brendon is quick to quit everything and she believes he will quit for his PHD. They then bring up marriage and quitting that as well… again. Finally Brendon figures out that they must head to the building on the coin while Rachel says its embarrassing because they were the first to reach the penny but the others who arrived with them have left before them.
Art and JJ are the first team to arrive at the pit stop. They have won 5,000 each to enjoy after the race.
Joey and Danny are the first to arrive at the Mole Antonelianna. They reach the next clue and it’s a detour. Teams must choose between two tasks. Clean that statue or Name that salami. In clean that statue teams must use the equipment provided to properly clean a statue. In name that salami teams must memorize 14 names of salami by tasting and looking at it, and then go over a mile away and name the salami.
Danny and Joey decide to do clean that statue.
Rachel and Brendon are still fighting, Brendon says that the money isn’t worth their relationship and he hates quitting. But they decide to continue on and reach their next clue.
Rachel and Brendon are the first to arrive at the detour; they are doing Name that salami. All while the other teams are driving around lost looking for clean that statue.
Rachel and Dave have arrived at the detour. They are doing clean that statue. Danny and Joey are quick to follow so is Vanessa and Ralph. Vanessa and Ralph accidently knock the head off of their statue. Nary and Jamie also knock the head off of their statue.
Rachel and Dave are the first to finish the detour. They are followed by Danny and Joey.
Rachel and Brendon are quick to name 6 of the correct salami’s but after that they are struggling and must keep going back to try and find the correct salami.
Kerri and Stacy have decided to do name that salami.
Rachel and Dave have arrived at the pit stop, they are team number two.
Rachel is having another meltdown because Stacy and Kerri have caught up to them and they can’t figure it out. Rachel says the race was supposed to be fun she’s not on big brother again. While Brendon says that they are done on the Amazing race. But they decide to continue on anyway.
Joey Fitness and Danny are team number three, Vanessa and Ralph are team number four. Nary and Jamie are team number five.
Rachel and Brendon have finally finished the roadblock and are headed to the pit stop.
Mark and Bopper have finally arrived at the roadblock and they are doing clean that statue.
Rachel and Brandon are team number six; Kerri and Stacy are team number seven.
Bopper and Mark are the last team to arrive at the pit stop. JJ and Art come out to the pit stop to greet Bopper and Mark. Bopper was running the race to have money to get good treatment for his daughter and seeing as Art and JJ won 10,000 dollars on this leg they wanted to share the money with him for his daughter’s treatment. Bopper says if he can he will return the favor. Phil reveals that this is a non-elimination leg of the race and they will be able to continue on.
