Baby Lyssa Chapman Arrested
Duane “Dog” Chapman’s family is in the news again tonight after his daughter Lyssa was arrested in Honolulu last night. Fans of A&E’s Dog the Bounty Hunter may be surprised to learn that Dog has not stepped forward to pay the $400 bail for Lyssa who is often called Baby Lisa on the show.
Lyssa was arrested early this morning for harassment and criminal property damage after police received a call at 3AM local time with a complaint that a woman was banging on doors. When police arrived they found that a window had been damaged. Few details of the incident are available, although there is a report that Lyssa also knocked a phone out of a police officer’s hand.
As of about 5:30 PM ET time, Lyssa was still in jail despite a low bail of $400.
Dog’s wife (Lyssa’s step mother), Beth tweeted late this afternoon. Her comment read” Remember one thing people who don’t immediately bail their kids out of jail.. Generally they know more than you do.
In 2009 Lyssa’s marriage to Brahman "Bo" Galanti was featured on an episode of Dog the Bounty Hunter. Lyssa filed for divorce last month after 4 occasions of alleged domestic violence by Brahman. The couple has 1 daughter together.
Earlier this month Dog was in the news when he, his sons Duane Lee and Leland and fellow bounty hunter and contributor on DTBH Bobby Brown were named in a lawsuit in which a subject claimed to have been injured, lost his job, and had to relocate after being hit by a pepper pellet fired at him. The case is in mediation and will go to trial in November if the 2 sides can’t come to a mutual agreement.
Lyssa, 23 is no stranger to the bounty hunter business - she is a bounty hunter and bondsman herself and works at Da Kine Bail Bonds with her family.
Her family is happy that she has gotten out of the abusive relationship with her estranged husband although there's no word exactly why Lyssa is still being detained.
