Big Brother 13: Opinions, Odds, & Predictions
Big Brother 13
Opinions, Odds, & Predictions
By MattD
Well the first "week" of Big Brother 13 is almost in the books, we had the twist we expected (the previous HGs) the twists we didn't know about (the rules about the partners, the golden keys), and now the first eviction. I'll get into all of that and more.
{sidebar id=2}Give the new people a chance: People forget that Dr.Will was unpopular for several weeks before he grew on us in BB2, it took Janelle 2-3 weeks in BB6 before people warmed up to her, in BB10 Dan was widely disliked at first. Let's wait and see with these people. You might be surprised.
Ahhhh the twists: Myself and a lot of people correctly guessed which 6 were coming back. In my opinion, all 14 HGs should have entered the house at the same time without any strings attached. We knew there was going to be 6 veterans coming back, but there should have been 7 and there shouldn't have been partners. I especially don't care for having to nominate a pair and play as a pair in POV. Oh well. The Golden Key is alright, makes you think twice about who to put up, it would be better if not for the aforementioned rule about nominating pairs, it would have been interesting to see if Hgs would volunteer to be "the pawn" if veto was used.
Odds: The current odds at any given time are based on a combination of where each player is numbers-wise, what they're capable of in competitions, and if in my opinion they will be well liked enough to have a chance of getting the 4 votes needed (out of 7) from the jury. I don't give odds for 2nd place, these are just odds to win.
Adam 9-1
Shelly 9-1
Danielle 9-1
Jordan 10-1
Brendon 11-1
Jeff 11-1
Cassi 13-1
Dominic 13-1
Lawon 15-1
Kalia 15-1
Rachel 20-1
Porsche 50-1
Keith 100-1
Dick :(
I've ruled out whoever survives between Keith and Porsche as having a chance to win, everybody else has a chance, but no one's better than 9-1 at this point as it's too early. The veterans are out-numbered, and none of them are exactly master-strategists (although Danielle deserves more credit than she's gotten for BB8), but this is off-set by the fact that Brendon, Rachel, Jeff, and Danielle are great at comps, and the alliance seems really solid at this point.
Adam 9-1: Doing an excellent job being well-liked and steering clear of controversy. He's a fan of the show, that will help a little. If he ends up on the block with Dominic I'm confident he'll stay. If you just watch the show and not the feeds, Adam's not the loudmouth he's portrayed as on TV. The producers know how to push his buttons in the DR.
Shelly 9-1: She really seems likable and intelligent. Nothing not to like about her personality or her game play to this point.
Danielle 9-1: Already in the Final 10. She's smart enough to let the chips fall where they may before making any key decisions. She's way more upbeat and more well liked then she was in BB8. I think she'll do well.
Jordan 10-1: I've never been as wrong about a player as I was about her in BB11. I didn't think she could pull it off but she did. She certainly won't be targeted for awhile.
Brendon 11-1: Same ole Brendon, boy does he whine when something doesn't go his way doesn't he? He'll be a better player if Rachel gets voted out early.
Jeff 11-1: He's a candidate to get knocked out early of course, but if he doesn't he can be dangerous. He's a very likeable guy, and has a great attitude, and of course can dominate the comps, but it's hard to get overly excited about someone's chances after the boneheaded move he made that single-handedly cost himself a final 4 spot in BB11. Maybe he learned something from it.
Cassi 13-1: I actually enjoy her conversations on the feeds, seems pretty bright. I think she'll be targeted pretty quickly however.
Dominic 13-1: I like him as well, but it seems like I'm the only one. Like Cassi, it doesn't seem like it'll be long before he's targeted.
Lawon 15-1: Can't really say I've seen a lot of game from him. Who knows, maybe that's his plan, just lay low for a few weeks
Kalia 15-1: Earlier in the week she said something about trying to get nominated so she can then win a golden key. If she's serious, it's poor strategy. There's going to be 12 in the house next week, the golden key only guarantees final 10, if you get nominated and survive you're already in the final 11. Is one free week really worth the risk?
Rachel 20-1: Yesterday Brendon was whining about Rachel having trouble finding a job because people remembered her from the show! Don't get me wrong I don't wish any ill-will on HG's after they're out of the house, but Brendon was complaining because of the way Rachel was "portrayed" on the show. Yeah Rachel did nothing wrong, it was all editing .
Porsche 50-1: I think she'll survive tonight, looks that way anyway. That being said, I've never seen anything like this: both nominees are so sure they're staying that they *both* throw the veto comp, now later in the week they're both convinced they're leaving. Her head doesn't seem to be in the game.
Keith 100-1: He has no idea what he's doing. Even if he stays 100-1 is probably too kind. He shoots himself in the foot, then while he's hobbling around, he shoots himself in the other foot. If he stays somehow, I'll talk more about him but let's just say this game isn't for him and leave it at that.
Dick (withdrew): Not gonna get into the rumors, but I hope all is well.
Predictions: It's not impossible Keith could stay, but I'll say he gets evicted by a vote of 7-3 with Lawon, Dominic, and Cassi dissenting. It'll be a crazy week if any of the newbies wins HOH.
Ok that's it for now... see ya next week for more Big Brother 13!
