Week 6 of Big Brother 13 is in the books. Or week 5 1/2, or was it week 4 again? Although Danielle left her options open by putting up Shelly and Adam , in the end she used her 2nd HOH to do what she had she had already done with her first. After the shock and awe of Brendon coming back into the game last Thursday, game-wise the week wasn't all that eventful. Or was it? Here are my thoughts:
{sidebar id=2}The twist revisited: There's polls everywhere online, and when there's a twist like this by looking at all of them, you get a good idea of what's going to happen. Kaysar was running about 80% back in BB6 when they were bringing somebody back and I think his total was announced at 82%. When we voted in Coup de tat a couple of years ago, it was clear that almost all of us were voting for Jeff. In BB9, it was apparent when we were voting that Alex would finish 1st and Parker 2nd, which is what happened, ( the rest of that twist was that the HGs had the option of not bringing anyone back so Alex didn't come back). I wrote here 2 weeks ago that my paranoid fantasy was between Dominic and Cassi splitting the vote and cancelling each other out, and Jeff/Jordan fans also voting for Brendon, that he would be the one coming back if they were bringing someone back. Throughout the week however I didn't see any indication this was going to happen. Cassi had a small but sizeable lead over Dominc and Brendon was a distant 3rd getting about 25-29% (those were just the polls I saw). When Julie announced that Cassi wasn't even in the top 2, you knew something was up. Then of course it was announced Brendon won.

So what happened? We'll never know for sure. The innocent explanation I can come up with is there is a huge disconnect in popularity between the people that follow on the Internet and the people who just watch it on TV as to Jeff/Jordan's popularity. Most everyone agreed at the time they would be helped if Brendon won. That's my explanation anyway. The problem I didn't mention with doing a twist like this last week, was unless someone has "Kaysar-like" popularity, and the vote is fairly close, fans of the others that didn't win are going to say the vote was rigged whether it was or not.
Back to the game: Shelly took some hits she hadn't taken before, and now is vocal about her dislike for Rachel. That's significant as just last week Shelly had more to do with saving Rachel than anyone. Brenchel last night were saying Jeff needs to go, and they got into a spat yesterday, so something interesting could happen if Rachel wins HOH.
Brings us to our odds:
Adam 4-1
Jeff 9-2
Shelly 5-1
Jordan 11-2
Danielle 9-1
Porshe 13-1
Kalia 13-1
Rachel 15-1
Brendon ( no odds )
Newbie will win 12-13
Veteran 13-12
I'd still be surprised if one of the top 4 (Adam,Jeff,Shelly,Jordan) don't win, but ever so slightly less than last week. The odds come out to about a 51% chance a newbie will win. I'm not sure about that. Basically that comes down to I think Adam/Shelly are in slightly better shape than Jeff/Jordan, and I don't see Rachel winning at this point, so it adds up that way.
Adam 4-1: He's my slight favorite this week because he's not at the top of anybody's hit list, and also in spite of the fact that Jeff and Dani kind of threw him the POV, I think he'll be formidable in comps that he has to win. Also he seems to have a pretty good grip as to what's going on in the house. He's on everyone's good side.
Jeff 9-2: Nobody in BB history has been sitting this good after 3 weeks in a row of the worst possible person winning HOH. Between the twist and Kalia's stupidity in her HOH , Brendon's still the only one they got out. Kalia has said she'll go after him and Jordan but by the time the weeks over it's anybody's guess who would end up being evicted if she won HOH. Adam wants him out ( as well as Dani and Rachel) but he won't be the one that puts him out. I think he'll win if it's between himself and Jordan.
Shelly 5-1: I'm starting to think she belives the lies she tells. That when she tells a lie she's honestly convinced herself that what she's saying is the truth. A lot of people are annoyed by her and at times I am too, but she really adds a lot to the game.
Jordan 9-2: She's seemed to pep up a little this last week, maybe the slop had gotten to her. No one seems to be after her, but I'm a little leary that 4 of 7 jurors will want to make her a 2 time winner. She certainly is in the running.
Danielle 9-1: Well she's beaten Brendon twice now, that's what she has to show for her 2 HOH's. I guess she just couldn't bring herself to work with Brenchel. If you had told me 3 weeks ago the next 3 HOH's would be Danielle, Kalia, Danielle, I would have guessed she'd be in great shape. But well.....stuff happened. Wonder if that late night session with J/J will help her.
Porsche 13-1: She might get evicted this week if Jeff wins HOH and Kalia POV, or if Jordan wins HOH. Otherwise she'll continue to coast along.
Kalia 13-1: Like with Porsche it's hard to see to her winning the game. I understand she was threatened with a Penalty Nomination because of all of her signing. I'll have to say I'm impressed. For years we've complained that when someone breaks the rules, they block the feeds and the only people that get punished are us. It's good to see production at least making an attempt.
Rachel 15-1: Does she have another HOH win or any kind of win left in her? It seems so long ago when she last won one.
Brendon ( no odds): I guess we're done for good now watching him and Rachel fight, listening to him whine that a competition he lost was unfair, etc. Now he gets to be in the jury.
Predictions: Shelly's gonna be OK tonight as Brendon gets evicted 5-1. They're talking an endurance comp tonight? Dani can't play so perhaps if it is endurance it'll come down to Kalia and Shelly, if that happens Shelly will talk her way into winning.
That's all for now, Enjoy Big Brother 13 tonight at 9/8c on CBS!
