The Biggest Loser, No ExcusesRecap For April 3, 2012By Vic2rea
We open tonight's episode of NBC's The Biggest Loser with a look back at the trip to Hawaii, followed by Megan's elimination. We return to the house to find Conda and Jeremy discussing how horrible it was to have be in the position of having to choose between Mark and Megan.
Conda tearfully talks about how everyone was so mean to Megan when they first arrived and how she, Conda, took her in and watched out for her. She continues to cry and talks how she just couldn't vote Mark out. Jeremy tells us it will be a fight to the end and tells Conda that Megan will find her way. Conda stops her crying and says it is only six more weeks before she gets to talk to Megan. She tells us that at a time like this, having to send her best friend home, there is no one else she wants to talk to but her brother. She tells Jeremy that she is proud of herself.
The Challenge
Finally, night falls and we gather outside for a challenge. Buddy notices that the figure of himself is much larger than he is now. Each contestant takes their place next to their life-sized picture taken when they first arrived. Alison announces that each of them has a window with a picture of their former self. Each person will cross the field, climb a cargo net, grab a baseball and place it in a sling-shot and fire at their window. There are two panes of glass in each window. The player to break through both panes of glass first, wins a 1-pound advantage on the scale this week. Alison then announces that the person who comes in last will receive a 1-pound disadvantage.
Alison calls go and they head for the cargo nets. Kim and Mark are the first ones to retrieve a baseball and try out the sling-shot. Mark fires and misses. Kim fires and it is a hit. Kim and Mark return to get another baseball, while Buddy takes a shot and hits. Conda takes a shot and misses. Chris hits on her second attempt. Kim takes another shot and falls short. Buddy returns and hits again. He wins the 1-pound advantage. Mark finally gets a hit and is tied with Kim and Chris. Jeremy and Conda do not have a hit yet. Mark takes a shot is hits and takes second place. Still not hit for Jeremy or Conda. Conda takes a shot, it bounces and breaks the glass. Jeremy follows suit. Kim also hits and takes third place. Jeremy shoots again and takes fourth. It is down to Chris and Conda. Chris aims, fires and hits for fifth place. Conda has received the 1-pound disadvantage.
Alison takes this moment to announce that it is makeover week. This announcement is met with cheers and applause. Alison wishes them a great week and we're off to visit with Jeannie Mai. Jeannie welcomes them and tells them this is the biggest makeover show ever and one they will never forget. She then announces that they are about to meet not only a style icon, but an icon to an entire nation. Chris is wondering who will appear on the monitor next to Jeannie. The suspense is short as First Lady Michelle Obama welcomes them to makeover week! Mrs. Obama congratulates them and tells them that they are showing America that each of us can make positive changes in our lives. She tells them that these changes won't just impact them, but their families and children as well. She tells them to keep up the good work. She says she would love to hear about how hard they have worked - in person - and invites them to come to Washington. Jeannie then tells them they will be going to the White House to reveal their new look and personally meet the First Lady. Jeannie says she is there to make sure they look the most polished and best they have looked in their entire lives.
Jeannie takes Chris to the back first and they find three of the outfits from Chris' wardrobe hanging on dress forms. One by one, she takes each contestant to the back to see the clothes that used to fit them. You can see how uncomfortable they all are viewing their old clothes. Jeannie has Kim put on her old jeans... they immediately fall to the floor.
Jeannie puts Kim in a brilliant red form-fitting dress and black heels and she looks stunning! Jeremy in decked out in jeans, a shirt with a sweater vest and leather jacket. Chris is in a black dress, v-neck and lace bodice and looks really good. Buddy comes out in a jeans, jacket and blue shirt and looks good. Conda is in a black dress and heels and says she feels very confident in her dress and is exactly the girl she wants Michelle Obama to meet. Up last is Mark in gray slacks and a sweater, looking slim, trim and so much younger. Kim says being dressed as she is feels like success and she is definitely ready to meet the First Lady.
Time for a trip to meet Ken Paves and complete the transformations. Ken welcomes them and introduces Marcy Cona who is there on behalf of Clairol and she will be giving them tips on how to care for their hair at home. Ken wants to shorten Chris' hair and put the sexy back in her hair. Let the cutting begin. Lots of footage of hair being cut and dyed. Conda tells Ken to cut her hair and give it to Locks of Love. Ken tells us he is nervous because his haircuts are meeting the First Lady.
We arrive in Washington where Bob and Dolvett are waiting in the White House to see the contestants new looks. Mark is shown walking up to the entrance, then inside where Dolvett remarks "Congressman Mark". Mark is wearing what appears to be a navy blue suit with a pink shirt and tie and look fantastic with no facial hair. Bob tells him he is in the White House and to just relax. Dolvett and Bob leave the room and Mark's family enters. His son runs to him for a big hug, followed by his daughter (no - Chism is not there - you'll have to wait for the Finale to see him). Group hug! Finally a hug and kiss for the wife.
Up next is Cathy. She is wearing a dress with a white top, black skirt and red accessories. Her hair is now very short and brown. She is unrecognizable! Bob is stunned at how young she looks. Chris' two sons and one daughter arrive for a quick visit. Nope, not Roy - same as above...
Time for Buddy's arrival walk to the White House. He is wearing dark suit with a light blue shirt and yellow tie. He is now clean shaven and wearing contacts. He sure looks different! Buddy's wife and children arrive for their reunion. Buddy's wife says she didn't recognize him when she walked into the room. After hugs and kisses, he moves on to hugging his older son and checking out the baby who gives him a smile.
Next up is Conda, short hair, lightened with blond highlights, wearing a blue dress with a black jacket. Dolvett says he sees a beautiful, loving, young woman. Bob and Dolvett leave and Conda's daughter is brought in to see her. Her family can't believe how much she has changed. Conda cries when she talks about how many good things have happened to her. Enter Jeremy, in a suit and tie and spiked hair. The family is shocked at the change. Jeremy grins from ear to ear as he hears how proud his family is of him.
Last but not least, is Kim, all dressed in black and looking ... wow. Wow, those were Bob and Dolvett's words on seeing her... wow. Bob tells her she looks ready to walk into the Finale. Kim says she feels great, anyone can look good, but it is better to feel great and look good. Bob and Dolvett leave and Kim's family arrive. Her son can only says "Oh my God, Oh my God" as he hugs her. There are lots of tears as she hugs her mother and thanks her for all she has done.
Bob, Dolvett, the contestants and their families make their way to meet the First Lady. We see the First Lady making her way to the room to meet with them and the doors open, the First Lady is introduced. She says "Hi Everyone!" and we get the words... to be continued!
Next Week: THE CONTESTANTS MEET AND WORK OUT WITH FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA IN THE FIRST EVER “BIGGEST LOSER” WHITE HOUSE WORKOUT -- In part two of the series’ biggest makeover episode yet, the six remaining contestants get to meet First Lady Michelle Obama, whose Let’s Move! initiative focuses on solving the problem of childhood obesity. The First Lady talks to the contestants about how adult behavior impacts kid behavior, congratulates the contestants on being good examples of health and fitness, and visits with each player and their family members. Then it’s time for a workout they’ll never forget as trainers Bob Harper and Dolvett Quince lead the First Lady, the contestants and their families through "The Biggest Loser’s” first ever White House workout. Mrs. Obama also challenges the contestants with a competition to get more Americans healthy and active. Later, Bob tries to help a player who turns to food for comfort to deal with the stress of worrying about a loved one at home, and Dolvett puts contestants through a scenic last chance workout in front of the U.S. Capitol at the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial. Then their amazing trip to D.C. is over and they return to the ranch to weigh-in before another player is sent home.
