South Park kicks off the new season with a bit of drama in Clyde's house. Clyde's mom seems to be extremely upset because of his constant forgetfulness to put down the toilet seat.
The boys show pity as they watch Clyde get yelled at by his mom. The next day in school Cartman finds the whole ordeal extremely funny and jokes about it in class. Out of nowhere Clyde's mom barges into the class room yelling at Clyde because he forgot to put the seat down once again. Night falls upon South Park and Cartman is still getting a kick out of Clyde's mom and decides to joke about it with Kyle, who isn't amused, over the phone. Cop sirens can be heard outside and the boys run over to the scene of the crime, Clyde's house. Clyde's mom has seemed to fall in the toilet seat at night while flushing it at the same time. It created a suction seal that caused her organs to be pulled out of her of her body. Who knew an act so harmless could leave a cartoon women in such tragedy.   
    The next day the crew attends Clyde's mom's funeral. Every speaker seems to refer to the debate of leaving the toilet seat up or down. The men seem to think it's not a big deal while the women find it to be a huge problem. Back at Cartman's home the toilet safety administration has just arrived. Cartman is uneasy and follows them into the bathroom. They explain they need to put safety belts on the toilet and other regulations and precautions. Clyde, Stan, Jimmy, and Kyle spend their day visiting a lawyer asking him if suing is possible in their situation. They wish to sue the inventor of the toilet. Since the inventor is dead they need to perform a "sueance". They will call upon the ghost of the inventor of the toilet and attempt to sue him. Using the practical comedic methods of South Park the show is able to display how people almost are concerned about money even in times of death and tragedy.  
    In Stan's bathroom, Randy, Stan's dad, had just encountered an unwelcomed guest in his bathroom. A cop has stopped Randy while on the toilet for not wearing his toilet safety belt. The show cuts to commercial break but returns to a restaraunt where Cartmen and Kenny are attempting to use a restroom. The line is out the door with a airport style security system at the other end. Safety percastions have skyrocketed after tradegy struck surrounding the toilet.
    Back at the "sueance" the boys have encountered a not so convincing ghost with the lawyer they hired. The ghost seems to keep demanding more and more money for information regarding the inventor of the toilet. At the end of the sueance, the boys leave with three hundred less dollars and no lawsuit in sight. Meanwhile cartman has taken matters into his own hand and has started a meeting regarding the security problem. People all want a solution but don't want to make sacrifices to achieve it.
    Over at the toilet safety monitoring center, a guard has just spotted that Cartman has kidnapped two toilet inspection guards and has cut power to the camera monitoring him. Cartmans actions have made the news even though his identity is still unknown. The people of South Park decide that if the toilet safety association can't keep them safe then they will simply perform a sueance to make up for the neglect in money. The actual ghost of Clyde's mom has appeared before the court and exposes the lawyer for a fraud. Sir John Harrington, the inventor of the toilet, marches into the court extremely aggravated stating that people have been using his invention the wrong way for centuries. He states that  your suppose to sit on it backwards so the toilet seat never has to move up or down.
    The scene cuts to Clyde in his bathroom. He finishes his business, keeps the toilet seat up, and flips off the sky above him, ending the episode.
