Recap For February 15, 2012

By honeySC

Welcome to Survivor! This season the castaways will live in two tribes on the same beach. Tribes are formed by male and female. They will be able to freely mix with the opposing tribe. There will be no Redemption Island and no opportunity to rejoin the tribe once a person is evicted.

Kourtney is introduced and says that she doesn't seem to fit in with either group. Colton is upset when the castaways are divided into groups of men and women. Men are given the orange buffs and the women are given the blue buffs. They are given sixty seconds to strip everything off a nearby truck. They gather water cans, bamboo poles, an axe, coconuts and bananas, fire wood, and sleeping mats. Immediately the women complain that the axe they secured for themselves was stolen by the men. Michael admits to the cameras that he did take it, but denies it to the women.

Survivor One World: Recap For February 15, 2012

Tribes walk through the jungle and Tarzan finds it to be a huge struggle. Leif impresses the men with his strength and agility in carrying a huge load through the jungle. As they struggle with the endurance of the hike, the ladies discover that Sabrina, Chelsea, Alicia, Kim and Sabrina are the strongest. They immediately form an alliance.

The ChickensArriving at camp, the ladies discover that their Salano flag is perched right beside the Manolo flag. They realize that they are to share the same beach. They also catch some chickens working with the men and decide to split whatever they catch. Chelsea, the country girl, catches the chickens and earns some grudging respect from the men.

Sabrina decides that the men need to share what they have if they want a chicken, and Matt decides that they girls will come to them when they need them, so they aren't dealing.

Both men and women work hard to craft a camp. Colton says that there is a clear divide between the two tribes. Colton wants to be with the women, and makes friends quickly with them. Matt says that he is comfortable with Colton's sexuality, but realizes that he is having trouble identifying with the men and says that if he doesn't fix that he is going to be gone very quickly. Colton feels that Matt is very arrogant when Matt approaches him about being an information runner. Colton thinks that Matt is trying to run the show. Matt says that he is aligned with Jay, Bill and Michael.

Colton approaches the girls and tells them that should they locate the immunity idol they should realize who needs it the most. Jay, though, sees that the girls don't want to work with them and he doesn't want to help them at all. He says, "One World, two hemispheres."

The guys get a fire going and Sabrina asks them if they will get a fire going for them as well. The girls mention that they stole the axe from them and then Sabrina tries to steal an ember, but Leif stops them. Troy says that they aren't going to get fire from them on day one, but maybe after a few days.

The girls go over after dark and suggest that they sit around the fire and just talk. The girls are getting dehydrated and Matt still denies them fire. Jay thinks that being down is good for the girls so let them struggle. Monica and Christine head on over to the men's fire in the middle of the night and steal an ember. They return with it and build their own fire while the men snore on.

In the morning, the girls find that their fire died and they are back to square one. Christina heads over to the men's camp and negotiates making 20 frond mats to trade for fire. The men agree and say that they will even go over and make it for them when the frond mats are delivered.

Sabrina goes out on a search for the hidden immunity idol and locates it almost immediately. She is given the instruction that she has to give it to someone from the Manola tribe. She gets Colton alone and tells him that she will give it to him if he will help her search for the female tribe's idol.

Jeff calls the tribes for the first immunity challenge. They must jump from a 25 foot tower and then make their way over to a platform where they must wait for the others before heading over a balance beam. Then they must head for a platform where they will lower their flag. The reward will be flint, and their immunity will be for their own tribe.

Immunity Reward Challenge

Kourtney takes a hard fall coming off the first part of the challenge and may have broken her arm. Medical takes her away for an x-ray and a technical situation occurs. The rules require that nine start and finish on each tribe. When Kourtney is pulled them men have the choice to call the challenge over and be declared the winners, or they may, in a gesture of cordiality, finish the challenge when and if Kourtney is able to return in the afternoon. The men chat briefly and decide to take the win. Jeff reminds them that decisions made early in the game may come back to haunt them at the final tribal council. The men state that the women wouldn't, in their position, halt the challenge and finish it later, so they will stand by their decision. Manolo wins the challenge and Solona must face tribal council tonight as the losers of the challenge.

The women are angry. They realize that this game is cutthroat and return to camp. Nina feels disappointment for Kourtney and hopes that she is okay, but realizes that it is game on. Sabrina talks to Coulton and tells him that the men are only keeping with him because he is disposable. She tells him that she wants him to stay around and gives him the Manolo immunity idol.

The girls get together and decide that even if Kourtney is able to stay in the game they will vote her out. Alicia wants Christina to go and decides to turn the tables on the others. She thinks that Christina is too cozy with the men. The girls go to Tribal Council and get their torch.

Jeff asks Alicia how she felt about seeing the men on their beach. Kat says that everyone has their individual roles. Christina says that she went to the men and offered to trade weaving for fire. Alicia challenges her on that and says that she offered to have two girls weave in their tribal space for the men. Christina calls her out on that and says that that wasn't so and ends up saying that they ended up with a better fire than they ever could have built.

Jeff says that they have huge animosity and no structure and that the guys must be thinking that they are all over the place. Jeff tells them that Kourtney broke her wrist in several places, and she is out of the game because it requires surgery. The good news is that no one else goes home tonight. He reminds them that they must get it together or the men will run the game. He gives them fire with their torches and sends them back to camp.

Next time on Survivor One World:
The women go from bad to worse and Colton is on an island of his own with both the men and women ignoring and irritated with him.

Kourtney says that she is not happy to be out of the game, but it wasn't her fault. She says that she hopes that she is seen as a strong woman, even if her stay was only three days.
